Post Reply Do you get tired of ongoing mangas?

I kinda do. Don't you get kinda tired just by seeing the same manga over and over again in different volumes?
Basically my opinion.

lets see naruto is nearing volume 50 in the states last time i checked so yeah.... i don't mind digital online copies "legal" but crap I don't have any where to store 50 volumes of one series besides it would cost as of now to own all of naruto 399.50 with out tax.

Depends on the Manga. I still love One Piece and that's on to volume 61 now. I think if a story can stay relevent and good then it should go on for as long as it's creator wishes.

Yep, usually after the first few volumes or so I drop it. I prefer oneshots.

No, not really. Ongoing mangas make me excited, and keeps me anticipating what will happen in the next volume.

its a hard question. if it's ongoing then sometimes it does get old. But if it ends it feels like it ends early. atleast it does for me.

I hate (most) manga that goes on for way too long.

Take Naruto for an example. I liked it in the beginning, but I dropped it after 5 volumes.

It depends. As long as the story keeps me interested i don't care how long it is. Case Closed is on book 37 and i will keep reading because of the plot!!!

Ongoing manga become part of my daily routine in life lol like I get used to them I kinda like sticking with some mangas for a long time instead of trying to get used to new ones all the time. Not saying new mangas aren't good I like new mangas just I like to keep a few core ongoing mangas with me to read and the story ongoing since I get too attached to them haha.

Any series in any media form can get tiring. It's true for television, movies, online videos, prose, and all types of comics.

I slowly lost interest in Inuyasha around volume seven. Managed to make it to volume twelve before giving up. The series kept going for 56 volumes...

More recently, my interest in Detroit Metal City has wavered a bit. Each volume has more and more tasteless comedy... and even though I'm only halfway through the series (book 6 of 12), I'm not sure if it's getting better or worse.

It depends if the story keeps interesting or goes completely stale. However, after reading Naruto for so many years and still reading it, I will not be trying to get into another long running series that runs 10yrs+.
