Even if she's not involved to any scandals or any sort of shit storm, she'll still have less luck looking for a voice acting jobs since the anime industry prefer seiyuu with lower pay than the pricey skilled and experienced professionals.

Yeah but she didn't have to do all that stupid sexual shit. And the fact she went out with someone so old makes her look like a slut. I'm curious to find out the truth thiugh

Really? really? looks like a slut. good god people need to get over themselves and mind their own business!! what matter is weather or not the actress in question voices her roles well. Anything else is just gas. If there's one thing I pity celebs for it's the arrogance with which their fans and haters invade their social life. Said folk would NOT tolerate being scrutinized in a similar fashion. It's hypocrisy at it's finest.

I don't care what other people think. I personally adore her as a voice actress. She's one of the few voice actresses that manages to capture my attention. They all just probably hating because she's so slutty etc etc. It's her own life. She can do whatever the hell she wants.

Ahem.
She's not the perfect cutesy little nice girl you can fantasize as your little sister. Get the fuck over it. (I am talking to you lowlife otakus [seriously, DEATH THREATS?])

Love her and Haruhi. <3 Hope this "ban" will be lifted.

Sorry but I think you got ms wrong, I was just saying that it was kind of unnecessary to wear sexual shirts in public, and with her being an idol like position. It might just be my Asian mentalility. But I think her role as a seiyuu is greatand I see mobreasob why otaku bashing is preventing her from being effective at voice roles.

It's probably because they're debuting more voice actors and don't want her to steal any opportunities for newbies. And in addition, OP durped?

I was watching Eyeshield 21 recently and I had the feeling I had heard the voice of Mamori before so I looked it up and sure enough it turned out to be Aya Hirano. I vaguely remembered this thread and figured some of the info I saw on the Wiki Page was relevant

In November 2010, she announced on her Twitter account that she has had a pituitary gland tumor since junior high school. While not malignant, the tumor exerts pressure on certain motor functions, resulting in temporary memory loss, loss of vision and slurring of speech. She decided against elective surgery because the surgery would alter her nasal cavity and permanently modify her voice. To facilitate her care, she announced in April 2011 that she has been prohibited from taking on new voice acting roles in anime since some time the previous year. She still continues voicing characters for anime that received additional seasons or extended runs. In May 2011, Aya Hirano announced via Twitter that she was no longer performing music for Lantis and has discontinued her music career until further notice.

I was wondering if perhaps she isn't taking any new jobs because they are preparing to get the surgery once she done voicing the characters she is currently doing. Maybe the feel that once she no longer has any character commitments a change to her voice won't be a problem for people.

The fact that she isn't getting it removed because it would change her voice amazes me, I realize a career is important but a person's health should come first.

If she does get the surgery eventually I hope it leaves her with a voice that she can continue her career with.

Regardless I wish her the best.

Her voice is probably much more important then you think. You might not realise it, but all her fans are there because of her voice. If she loses it, then she pretty much loses everything.

Also, this - Quoted from before posts.

Fans in Japan are much, much more hardcore then one who lived outside of Japan would probably realise. If they make even one mistake, they pretty much lose all their fans. I remember that recently (in my memory at least - I heard it from someone else), that an idol of which I forgot the name of (it wasn't Aya, I don't think), announced that she was going out with another idol, and she ended up getting death threats from her fans... (Or it might have been a Korean Idol, but their fans are pretty much the same level).

So the possibility exists that she was stopped for at least this year to hold back against the worst of the "huge otaku back lash against her in Japan."

Also, Aya Hirano was not "Canned" or "Fired". She was "banned" from voicing new roles.

She probably could have swapped companies/aganecies easily, seeing as it was probably the agency which prohibited her, but the tumour might also have something to do with it, seeing as the agency stopped her probably for her own good. There's also the possibility that she might find any other jobs if she swapped comapanies, as it's easier for agencies to hire new faces and train them rather then hiring a pro for much higher costs.

If she swapped agencies, it's also possible that she would end up unable to do the anime that she had previously enjoyed, e.g. Haruhi.

Yeah, that's all I have to say.
