Big O! No matter how many times I watch it, I still can't figure out the ending. (Actually kind of irritates me.)

Big-O. Great anime except for the end. I've asked a few people and they gave a basic explanation, but didn't even come close to fully answering my question. I have an idea, but I want to see what other people on here say first.

Ergo Proxy. Watched it years ago and didn't understand a thing. I guess I'll re-watch it, I barely remember anything.

Eureka Seven AO is undoubtedly up there, it ruins the show's quality to. I did a review on my website going into detail http://www.otakugamerspot.com/index.php/2012/11/tricky-dive-into-the-astral-ocean-eureka-seven-ao-review/

I have yet to watch a confusing anime per se. I've never really been confused about the anime, sure about some of the stuff going on in it from time to time, but its more like "wtf? whys he such an idiot" etc, but i'd guess i'd have to say Shigurui, no ending to the start of the anime etc, but i still wasnt really confused ^^' cuz its the style the anime was in, and im it shouldn't have ended in any other way

One could argue ALL anime start off a little confusing.... at least a little. Unlike movies, most anime don't even have the opening monologue to give us exposition on the world or characters, you just gotta learn naturally......iiiitttt'ss a different style of writing, but, if done right, a better style, pretty easy to follow....
...Just don't make a Kingdom Hearts anime and I'll be good. |

(OFF) I will become an otaku one day. One way or another.

Lain. Rarely have I ever been so lost... After watching several episodes in a row, I told my friend it wasn't happening, and fell asleep.

Gasaraki... very dry in presentation and as a result it's hard to get into. Getting past the first episode was really challenging for me, I almost fell asleep. Not to mention it was very freaky with ancient Japanese idealism and rituals and what-not not commonly seen now-a-days. It wasn't necessarily confusing to get into, just harder to get into. That's all.

Ummm... most movies don't have expositions on the world or characters. Introductions, maybe, but not lengthy expositions of the setting besides perhaps visual representation or something similar. Same goes for anime. Anime can have expositions of the world or characters inside it. No, it's not a different style of writing (not saying they can't have one), it's the same style (from the way you're making it seem at least). The same style can be presented in different ways and vice versa. Both anime and movies follow the same basic principles with scripts, storyboards, planning, etc. |
