Chicago school bans homemade lunches.

It's funny how Americans are willing to let themselves be robbed of fundamental rights, but then it comes to a little thing like that, which actually serves to increase your health and your abilities to learn and live, you riot.

read my previous statement on this, it's just bs and believe me i am more of aware than our "rights" here being taken away one by one, the lovely "patriot act" or the acta internet bill that is trying to pass as well. Don't assume anything I know how bad I am being fucked over. Also here is link of what can best be said about it.

Oh I agree whole-heartedly, he's attempting to help people change their lives for the better and make nations think about their policies on school meals. I'm just saying that he probably prompted this, and considering parents rarely exhibit "tough love" any more, this is probably the best way to ensure children have nutritious food rather than shit laced with additives.

I was thinking in general, the level of anger and feeling of unjust in the responses in this thread, compared to how big an issue it is ^_^

Its okay i guess because they do get a good food that is healthy. But they should starve to death for not buying school lunch. Home lunches is an option and not a written rule.

not really as i stated in my previous post I actually gained weight but this was back in 03/04 but I highly doubt school food has changed that much. There are kids that are diabetic, with hyperglycemia and so forth, so what's the school going to do about that? Raised taxes on people in order to provide those alternatives which schools will never offer.. I don't know I am getting really sick of this crap...

To me this is not very important since i go to college however our cafeteria does serve healthy foods in a various amounts since it is a college that gets its produce from local farms and such.

True enough, true enough, but if you don't stop the little things then more and more happens and people are like ehh? who cares and when they finally come along for what you care about it's to late because guess what? other people have given up hope and don't care anymore.

there is a difference though colleges are privately funded, public schools are not which means that they cut corners where possible in order to save a buck and don't really give a shit to be honest. I mean that's all I can really say on it to be honest but this is just me.

Maybe the school should teach the kids better on eating healthier then forcing them to eat their shit... But i gotta admit this is a good way to fund money to the school... might as well skip the cafeteria and and go to McDonalds or sumthing, prolly have the same dam nutrition as tht

That school better have some damn healthy lunches. My lunches from home were always better than the shit they served at school. I'd rather just not eat at school.
