It seems like recently the stroke/border around the subtitle text has gotten thinner. The "Exclusive to Username" part still has a nice thick border but the main subtitles are much harder to read now and almost impossible when overlaid over white video content. Is there a reason for the change, can it changed back or is there a place I can change my local settings to increase it as it's definitely requiring more concentration to read now.

To cite examples I'm going through Season 3 of Gintama now, but today even when watching the latest Naruto Shippuden it was much thinner (although it compensated with a drop shadow which helped its clarity)

The subs for Naruto Shippuuden on this site has always had thinner borders. As for Gintama, it was one of the earlier legal subbed series on this site and from what I remember different subtitle styles were tested at times - the Gintama subtitle style should start looking much better towards the end of season 3, and stay good until season 5 (where the subtitles turn yellow).

From my experience most recent simulcasts have sufficient borders, with the exception of Astarotte's Toy (I believe Nichijou also had problems with this, which were later fixed).
