You're supposed to brush basically after each meal whenever you can. Floss at least once using a C shape around the contours of your teeth and going under 3mm of your gums, you don't need to saw away at them so be gentle. Even that's not enough to get other parts of your mouth so it's beneficial to use a mouthwash to do the rest.
Oh and brush that tongue because bacteria on it is the major cause of bad breath.
And it's a good idea to drink with a straw particularly with acidic drinks such as soft drinks or even orange juice. Though with acidic drinks and foods you should wait half hour before you brush because they weaken your enamel and brushing so soon can actually cause damage to enamel.
Also remember your gums can't grow back. So when you brush don't press too hard otherswise your gum line will recede and you'll end up having buck tooth.
