A large percentage of CR are 13 year old girls who have no life.

Is that so? Not according to this graph:

To be honest, I was shocked by the graph too XD
I guess we just see more girls interacting with the site than guys. Most of the user's are just here to watch the media and don't interact with the site much.

And the age makes sense since most of them have credit cards and would be around that age to obtain one. I always assumed CR was filled with 15 year old little girls. Boy, was I wrong O_O

Wow that's shocking. Around the forums, I see it's mostly girl dominated. Even in those "Are you a girl or boy?" polls, it's usually 75% girls, 25% boys.

Anyway @OP, I'd say it's actually the other way around. There have been many ecchi shows lately, and some shows that look "girly" such as We, Without Wings are actually for boys. In under the first minute of the first episode, there was already a girl completely in her underwear, and later on many panty shots. You can't judge an anime on how it looks.

Now while many shows are targeted towards a certain gender (And age group), it doesn't mean the other gender isn't going to like it all. I mean with Vampire Knight, it's a Shojo series, and personally as I guy, I really enjoy the show. It's my favorite Shojo title.

As far as the selection of shows you can blame Japanese anime creators mostly XD CR each season can only pick up what is available and if the season is filled with a lot of the same kind of shows we'll get a few of them here. Not sure what the OP means by "anime for girls" as Japan has different cultural conventions to the west so a lot of shows that seem like they would be for girls are actually aimed at older males (go figure) I can't say i've really noticed much Shojo anime on here myself. There's a whole lot of Seinen stuff and Shonen.

Licencing is a funny thing. What people are saying at times isn't really realistic since it's not just a case of money most of the time in the cases of the more popular anime a company usually already licenced it so not only do you need to deal with the original company you need to deal with the various companies that have licenced it various countries since CR is international the logistics are a nightmare which is why in certain cases they can't licence some things for every single country. Toei play hardball as it is when it comes to One Piece add that to a whole bunch of other countries who have it licenced and you have a massive headache.

funi has licensed streams to it, why would they give it to cr? It's one of the few hits they have for their sites and i don't have problem with drama/slice of life/harem anime as long as it's good and they pull it off, so far spring is the best season i have seen in years besides dog days and we without wings

This is a very good season i've found several anime that i enjoyed. I personally prefer the slow drama shows since i'm a fan of character driven storytelling more than explosions or muscle flexing so it's been a fruitfull season for the kinda stuff i like.

how many girls watch naruto for the hope of sasukexnaruto and guys what shojo for romance stories like maid sama or card captor sakura? there is not defensive barrier between the two to keep out either sex unless you count bl anime or something like kankon or queens blade

I was just pointing out that shounen literally means "boy" and shoujo literally means "girl"
That doesn't mean that either gender is obligated to watch their anime... type.
