14. Do you believe this situation of male underperforming academically relative to females is a situation that should cause alarm? Please state why.
Not really, boys can go in their own direction, if they had enough drive then they would reach their goal.. I think they need to be taught maturely at a young age.

10. No

11. --

12. - Not enough male teachers in school as role models
- Males prefer not to perform well academically (because it is a “girl” thing).
-Other: It seems to me that most males are more irresponsible at high school age than females, and as an result they tend to not want to take the responsibility of school as seriously.

13. Specialized teachers

A good teacher can make even the most boring and unrelateable subjects interesting and easy.

14. Not really… There’s a lot of people having problems learning in high school--male and female. So I really think we should worry about everyone, not just one group.

1. What is your gender?
- Female

2. What is your ethnic background? (Please circle all that applies)
- Caucasian

3. How would you rate your academic performance relative to your peers back in high school or currently?
- Very Good (Amongst the best students)

4. “An individual’s academic performance is mainly the result of the amount of effort and time they have contributed towards learning.” How strongly do you agree with this statement?
-I agree to a point. Because, in order to gain that time and effort the student will need a support system, and parents who take time out to help them learn good work habits and whatnot.

5. “While effort contributed to academic performance can affect the out come, the biggest factor that affects an individual’s academic performance is inherent qualities – If you are smart you will do well, if you are not, you wouldn’t.” How strongly do you agree with this statement?
-Strongly disagree, because NO ONE is dumb, they just need to be taught good work habits and the rewards of doing well. A person who says they are not smart most likely needs a confidence boost.

6. In High School, how many hours outside of school do you contribute to your academics on average per week? (I.e. Tasks like: Studying, making notes, doing assignments, researching, etc).
0 – 2 3

7. In school, rate the importance of the items below from one to ten, one being the lowest, and ten being the highest?

Academics _6_ Sports (Depends on the person) Social life _5_ Overall Experience _8_

8. How important is it for you to perform well academically?
Important Neutral

9. While growing up, which gender do you feel performed better academically in school?

Yes

11. If you answered yes to question 10, do you believe the current system of public secondary school properly caters to the innate needs of male and/or female students in terms of the delivery of curriculum (the way they teach)?
-This depends on person's viewpoint and they way the school is run. But usually, it caters more to females who tend to be more patient and take to sitting around in classrooms better. With boys, you often have to let them play and explore.

12. Research indicates that in most developed nations, males underperform academically in public school relative to females. Please circle three main reasons that you believe have caused this situation?
- Females are innately more suited to learn in the current model of academic environment

13. Please choose the best method to improve the academic performance of males, and in the space provided state why?
-Neither.

14. Do you believe this situation of male underperforming academically relative to females is a situation that should cause alarm? Please state why.
