The manga continues for quite a while after the anime stopped so they would have plenty to go off of. Loved the original series and now I will hate calling it the original series if this new one does get completed because it just sounds wrong. If they somehow try and get the original staff and cast involved then I think it could obviously turn out well, but we'll have to wait and see though.

as good as the anime was it was incomplete I'd think people would be happy to finally get a chance at having the rest of series animated.

I Actually have Rurouni Kenshin On DVD and they might do what they did with InuYasha and finish off the series OR do what they did with Fullmetal Alchemist and remake it but either or will work for me since I love the series I just hope they don't mess it up since its a great series.

it might be interesting to see if they do like the full metal alchemist and make the new kenshin follow the anime more closely since i've read that theres a fair amount in the kenshin anime that was just "filler" type stuff. i havent yet watched kenshin but have read all of the manga. i just hope that with the new version they dont screw the story up.

Looking forward to it. Hopefully it's a complete remake as a TV series and not just some OVA or movie... Would also be nice to have 100 episodes, so it's not rushed like FMA:B...

A remake? noooooooooooo.
I'm guessing they'll add ecchi and a kenji-in-the-making scene.
They just don't make anime the way they should be these days *sigh*

I hope the same company/director will handle this new one, so that it won't be ruined.

Actually I;m hoping for a DIFFERENT studio to handle the series. Anyone who's read the manga knows that Gallop made quite a few changes from the manga. Making Kenshin a MUCH lighter character, removing some of the more suggestive themes(like Kenshin and Sano initially thinking Megumi was a prosititute, or Sano's friends dying from opium OVERDOSE rather than "being tricked into thinking the opium was medicine", seriously WTF?). I;m hoping they get maybe A-1 Pictures, Sunrise or even Pierrot to do it since it would likely result in an adatption that's more faithful to the manga.

But as long as it;s not Studio DEEN I;m satisfied. they would ruin Kenshin like they do with most of their adapttions.

On another note why are some people convinced it;s only a continuation and not a full on reboot? I guess some people have forgotten that Kenshin, as mature as it is at times, is still a shonen and it's primary demographic is kids/teens. The show is 15 years old and therefore the target age group would likely not remember it so it would make MUCH more sense to do a full on remake and bring in a new generation of fans than simply animate the last arc for fans who are already long gone from the show's target demographic, and may not even be that interested in a revival.

i definitely would not watch a Rurouni Kenshin remake. i dont wanna see this classic ruined. it would be like DBZ Kai, which is complete garbage.

How was DBZ Kai Garbage? Now granted i stopped watching early in the Android Saga, but it was simply DBZ with less filler and some nice smoothing/filtering and a HD Opening & Ending... and the DBZ Kai OP&ED are catchy :D

I agree, we need nicer animation and higher FPS to get the younger kids to give good shows a chance. After they are sucked into the plot, graphics matter less, but you can't go around kicking ever kid in the gut, or you'd goto jail, so you can't force them to stomach old animation if they won't give it a chance.

Its like me telling all of you to go read Kodomo no Jikan, its really really good, but you'd give up on page 4 cuz the Loli Fanservice.

"I missed the last train..." Oyajima fucking EPIC

The Godsmack Kenshin AMV was really well done, man i haven't made an AMV in Years, i miss those days with Sony Vegas 8 and so many snippets taking 2 weeks of all my free time to compile them! Very well done.

Back on topic, I think it needs to be a complete remake, less filler, and cut out the BS Amakusa & Feng Shui arcs, and please for the love of god, that horrible anime+real life cg crap on the final TV episode UGGH. And make sure Kaoru & Kenshin hook up at the end or during it! Kenshin works too hard not to get a little night service.

Well I actually loved the original Kenshin so I wouldn't mind. BUT, I have to agree, anything is better than studio DEEN,
