I think they mean the possible event.

I think the world will not be destroyed, but simply driven to the brink of destruction. If this happens, then I don't think the world will end, I think it'll just be cleansed.

"The Age of the Aquarius; we will inherit this world." is something I like to say and think about. It is the era where people finally lose faith in God and religion and instead put more faith in themselves and their progression. It's supposed to be a monument of any era, which in a way, could be a modern renaissance because it'll be the era where free-thinkers get to show their stuff.

The world ending? Possibly, I won't rebuke the possibility; but I won't consider it absolute until the moment arrives. I much prefer the Age of the Aquarius, it gives humanity hope and propriety.

Human kind deserves this age.

I dont really mind if the world is going to end or not. Dont really matter to me either way. Let the world continue or let it end. All the same thing to me

This is one of the most intelligent posts I ever seen! :D

That is this age I keep hearing about, that said the age of the fish is over or something like that?

They stopped making calenders because they knew they wouldn't live that long, not because the world was going to be destroyed.

And also, didn't the world get predicted to end in 1900, 2000 and 2006?

And as far cleansed goes, you mean cleansed of people? The earth got destroyed plenty of times, it just rebuilt it self.

From this quoted post, and other things I heard, they make 2012 sound like a natural extinction even like the Dinosaurs, but there aren't any signs of an extinction even, the weather feels normal.

Great white sharks and crocodiles lived through extinctions events..... Whose to say Humans won't find a way to slip by this one? The same way the Great White slipped past the Jurassic Period?

The Earth goes through cycles - I don't believe in global warming.
The different prehistoric eras (palezoic, mezosoic, cenozoic) show that the world went through drastic changes, causing evolution and growth, and even extinction of species. It isn't unfathomable to believe that would happen again.
The world isn't going to end (not unless, as someone pointed out earlier, the sun goes nova or the moon gets sucked into our gravitational pull), but there could be drastic changes in the future. Maybe another ice age? Who knows...I doubt I will see it in my lifetime.
Could mankind destroy iteself? Certainly so - building nuclear power plants that can't withstand mother nature would definitely be a cause for alarm in our future (not just referring to Japan's earthquake, but just this week, Surry Nuclear Power Plant in Virginia was hit by a tornado - which isn't enough to cause damage to the reactor, but it was enough that the emergency generators to run the cooling systems had to come on).
I am interested in things like super volcanoes, and the moon is actually getting closer to the earth every year, and stray asteroids barely skirting our revolution around the sun - but worrying about the end of the world as we know it by an act of nature isn't going to stop it, and no amount of preparing will prevent the inevitable.
Personally, I am more worried about wars at the moment - human violence is much scarier, but easier to defend against than Mother Nature.

Aquarius is a zodiac sign, it's latin for "water bearer". The terminology is instinctive on whicht he Aquarius will give life to a shambled world. That is what I think.

Cleansed, as in most people if this does happen. I can't say all of humanity will die but possibly a large majority. I also have to add my opinion and say I don't quite see the problem like other people would.

I'd prefer to think similarly, humans are capable of surviving and are built for survival. Humans can be considered like sharks, if you really want to stretch the similarities in scenarios.

Well, satan has already sent 2 versions of the Anti-Christ, so I wouldn't be surprised if the world ended at both May 21 2011 and 21 december 2012..

Well I'm not here to preach at anyone or anything but as far as the end of the world goes, I think the bible is right
(kjv version mind you, the others are.. watered down).
I don't read my bible like I should but Matthew 24 explains most current events pretty well I think
(thats not all there is to the end of the world crisis in the bible if you wanna check).

anyways here are some facts to looke at after you read Matthew 24 (if you decide to)

The rate at which natural disasters are happening worldwide is beyond 100% of the normal of any past century.
There are wars going on, and there have been rumors of wars/unrest etc.
Most people in general don't like christians
There have been quite a few people who have claimed to be Jesus or God who obviously weren't and tricked ppl (look it up it's true, and fyi demons can do "miracles" too...)

in Matthew 24 it says that things will be similar to when the great flood came with noah and the ark. He preached for 120 years to the people in which time they didn't change anything they were doing. When the animals went in the ark on their own they probably had a second thought or two but nothing life changing. soon after the animals went on, the rain started.
The way things are going now, everyone is looking at the signs of the times (natural disasters) like the ancient people watched the animals go into the ark- watching until its too late

and thats what I think

Yeah I agree with most people I think its just a time to maybe be more cautious since us humans are so good at destroying things. As for the end of the world if it happens it happens really there is probably nothing we can do, but I don't thin 2012 is the big time anyways.
