END OF THE WORLD?
Posted 4/23/11
I think it's all crap! Some people just wanna spread fear to mankind & enjoy looking at people panic. I don't believe humans are able to make predictions, cause if they do, 911, Bali bombing, SARS & the recent japan earthquakes can all be avoided. I'm actually kinda looking forward to may 22nd and see how they are gonna explain themselves why nothing happen on may 21st which was suppose to be judgement day since they believe in it so much that it will happen? That's going to be very awkward! Same for 2012 December.

Cleansed, as in most people if this does happen. I can't say all of humanity will die but possibly a large majority. I also have to add my opinion and say I don't quite see the problem like other people would.

I'd prefer to think similarly, humans are capable of surviving and are built for survival. Humans can be considered like sharks, if you really want to stretch the similarities in scenarios.

Hey dude do you think someone like me ought a be part of this new world? I'm a partial troll at times but maybe you could share my bridge with me. It would have lots of chocolate and fruits and cakes. What are your thoughts?

Ihm pretty sure our world won't end for another couple hundred thousands yrs to almost 10 million yrs from nao deprending if we don't create our own demise =.=....being how we are destroying this planet ourselves...wouldnt be surprised if this planet won't last 500 yrs...we should be worrying about our freakin atmosphere, trash, and endangered animals =.=...

No point in freaking yourselves out about the world ending not lyk we can do anything bout it...just gonna drive yo'selves nutts it's the same story for all of us..gonna die sooner or later...just enjoy life as much as you can..start worrying when the sun, starts to grow n size nd turn red....then you may panic...

They also said California would break apart in 2009. Well, it's 2011 and they are still wrong.

The world will end when the sun burns out, which was thought to happen in some 5,000,000,000 years.

I'll probably be high at that time..
and people will be like " AHHHHHH!! WE ARE GOING TO DIEEE!!!

and I'll be like.. " chill dude, take this pot. let's walk. it's a beautiful day outside."

People only think that the events we're seeing are bad omens because they want them to be.

People didn't think hurricane Katrina was a bad omen, people didn't think Obama being elected was a bad omen.

Yet the earthquake and Tsunami in Japan are somehow bad omens? It's because of the 2012 theory, it wasn't in anybody's head until recently. And only recently did people start to associate natural disasters to the end of the world. See the pattern?

After 2012 comes, and everybody is still alive, this non-sense will come to a close for a bit.

Japan is an Island, it's very possible for a Tsunami to strike if you think about it. As for the Earthquake, I'm not a geologist so I don't know much about how they work, but I do know that it's not going to be the end of the world.

If the end of the world was really in 2012, people would be out living their lives since their lives would be measured in weeks. But do you see that? No. Which means people know that it's not going to happen. So why do people believe it? Because it's entertaining.

Just because it's about the end of the world doesn't mean that it has everything to do with 2012 or prophecies or anything. The world will end someday, because nothing is exactly permanent or perpetual in this universe, and the likelihood of us impacting another planet, a large asteroid or comet, our sun getting old and blowing up, our atmosphere disappearing, or coming across a black hole is large enough to say that this world will be ripped to shreds someday. It could be 2012 or it could be 10943 for all we know. One of the only ways to survive it is to find a way off this rock and to preserve it while we're here.
And there's no way for you or the human race to live forever in this universe, no matter what crazy ancient magic you believe in. It's a simple scientific property called "entropy", which basically means that the universe is decaying and that more and more of it is becoming unusable. So I say live your life to the fullest and hope you're not around when doomsday hits.

A few years ago someone interviewed some Native American shamans (Navajo, Zuni, Acomita tribal holy men who reside in the states of Arizona and New Mexico) and their answers suggested change was coming by 2015 but it would NOT be apocalyptic. There are a few writers that are speculating possibilities occurring around 12-21-2012 about a Planet X orbiting close to the Earth by then on its 3500-year orbit through the solar system. The proximity to our planet and the Sun is supposed to induce heightened solar flares around the Sun, generate mega-electromagnetic pulses which may reek havoc with our Internet and other electro-magnetic systems indefinitely. There may be something to this hypothesis or it may be bogus (any excuse to scare the populace and promote book sales). You can Google "Planet X" and "2012". Examine the choices and arrive at your own conclusion(s).

I can recall the hype that surrounded 1-1-2000. For about a year before that anniversary date the news media was in a meltdown about what the future would hold on that day. Airplanes were going to fall out of the sky because of faulty computer programs that failed to take into account the years 2000-beyond. Our missile defense system was going to shutdown and leave the populace exposed to possible nuclear annihilation from the Soviets or wherever. Dehydrated food sales were up. Some of my cousins feared the worst: societal break-downs, social unrest, food riots. They stocked up on dehydrated food and ammo. I didn't; back then I thought that was all BS. So far, so good.

Have you noticed in Disaster/Apocalypse movies the president of the US is always black? (some movies before Obama became pres) the thought just came to me and scared me a bit, I can just picture Obama coming on screen and saying "A meteor the size of Alaska is heading for earth" in his sexy voice lol.

Even IF its the coming of the end of the world, panicking is not going to save you. If we get hit by a meteor, or a solar flare or whatever the fawk is suppose to happen, there's not a bunker in the world in the world that can save you.

IF being the key term here, i bet the Mayan who made the calender just ran out of room on his slab of rock.

Haven't people been saying the end is nigh for the last thousand years or so? And didn't someone work out that the Mayan calendar doesn't actually end in 2012, and that their predecessors had messed up the translation?

However it turns out, there's no point worrying about it. If the world's going to end on a given date, worrying won't change a thing.
