The next day when the sun hadn´t even shone her first rays, Rowan and Loki lay in wait and watched the merchants load their caravans.
Rowan grinned happily. "The two men didn´t lie when they said they have very good goods to trade. I would say they have the best good since we were so nice to exclude this poor man off their things. It would be a dishonor to make an exception on those men, wouldn´t it?" He seemed satisfied. On the contrary Loki looked thoughtful and not as enthusiatic as his brother. "I don´t know Rowan. This just seems too good to be true to not be a trap. Would you mind if we overthink our plan a little bit? I don´t feel comfortable with this."
Rowan turned to face his brother. "Loki you are just too tense. Do you really think that this detective and little girl could arrange a 20 cart caravan with slaves, silk robes, jewelry, water suplies and lots of more in on or two days? That would be more than a miracle." He sounded sarcastic.

Well I wouldn´t underestimate this witch and the shadow-guy. But I think I shouldn´t say that aloud. Loki thought and noticed his brothers expression after he had seen the goods and saw his decision to take out the caravans. And maybe the blood from some female slaves. Loki sighed. He just hoped that all would go well and without trouble.

"Wow, when you said goods, you really meant goods eh?" Rafael said sitting in a caravan cart filled to the brim with Silk and a large wooden box.

"Well the silk is a present, or advanced payment for me I guess you could say. as for the slaves, there all skilled warriors, they are just made to look like ragged slaves, but they are all skilled in combat, and as for the boxes" Vallerie said standing up and getting a crowbar "There filled with" Vallerie took the crowbar and slammed it into the box and pryed the top off.

"With my men" A man stand standing up out of the box "Miss Vallerie, General Froumen at your service" he said in a polite tone as he took Vallerie's hand and kissed it "My men are probably already making there way out of the boxes as we speak, we will be ready to move when you give the signal"

"You make me blush General" Vallerie said with a sly smile "But please, take a seat, we only just left town, I dont think our culprits will attack until we are some distance away from the city"

As the day came the group of caravans left the town and started heading towards great the desert and to their next destination.
Hidden from far away two figures watched the caravans walk over the hot sand and planned their attack which only led into their own misfortune.

Rafael used his shadows to tear away two men who had begun fighting over Vallerie.

He could sense their growing agitation as they lusted after her. "Damn, cant they hold on a little longer." he growled to Vallerie who was beginning to look pale.

"Im trying, but if I keep lessening the effect they will break out of my control and trying to explain to a general why he is in the middle of the desert with half his army wont be pretty..." She swayed and Rafael caught her arm and helped her sit down.

"Where are they....if they dont come soon...." she whispered, putting her head in her hands.

He peeked out from behind the caravan but caught no sight of them. "Shit, did the plan fail..." He wondered, a sweat drop trailing down his cheek as the heat of the desert increased.

Suddenly he caught two people approaching from the far distance and grinned in relief, "They're coming!" he said to Vallerie.

****
Rowan and Loki neared the caravan and suddenly heard loud yells and battle cries as they found themselves surrounded by at least 50 men, dressed for battle.

"What the-" Rowan said as Loki yelled angrily, "See, it was a trap!"

Rowan 's face became red with anger. "They take us for fools? We'll kill everyone of them!"

"End it quickly Raf" Vallerie said clutching his desert cloak trying to support herself on her knees "You have maybe 30mins before i lose control over the general and his men, though they may seem happy if they see the two desert demons in front of them, but even then my men were too egar, they didn't get to attack any of the carts so we have no proof, for all the know they could just be two adventurers crossing the desert, we have to get them to admit to there crimes during this battle, that is your job"

Rafael gave a nod "Ill do my best" he said showing a small magical orb a voice recorder he had on hand "Ill try to get a recording with this, so don't worry" he said with a smile "You just concentrate on holding these men under your control for as long as you can."

"Ill try to extend it to 40mins, your wasting time though, go, ill be fine" Vallerie said, and with that, Rafael jumped out of the cart and ran off to the battle site.

"Here he comes," Rowan said as they spotted Rafael emerge from behind a caravan and headed in their direction.

"That snotty witch is probably controlling all of them like mindless puppets! Idiots!" Loki said as he kicked a man sending him screaming into the air.

"Hey!" Rowan sniffed. "Its not easy to resist you know..."

Loki rolled his eyes at his brother's weakness,"Here's what we will do, I'll take her out and you deal with this guy." Loki said.

Rowan nodded as Loki jumped between a horde of soldiers and made his way to Vallerie.

"This will be as easy as stealing a baby its lolly." Loki mumbled grinning while he dashed through the armed men towards his prey. As expected the whole caravan thing had been a trap to capture him and his brother and they really had fallen for it. Well, luckily he and Rowan were not some lowly humans with no great strength.
Loki tossed the last men away and now stood face to face to Vallerie who was exhausted from controlling so many men for too long.

"Are we tired, little girl? You don't look very well, did anything happen?" Loki asked worried but his grin told otherwise.
Vallerie panted heavily but stood straight and with high held chin. "I don't need much power to defeat a fly like you. Kneel before me demon!" She said and released more of her alluring powers directing them towards Loki who first showed no affection like last time. On the other side Vallerie got more exhausted.
"Why is it that you aren't affected by me? Every men falls for me if I wish for it." She said in an arrogant tone.

Rowan dodged the shadows which launched out of the ground like stabbing pincers. He leapt up high and then aimed a kick at Rafael's chest.

Rafael raised up his arms to block but wasn't fast enough and the kick connected dead center and sent him flying back.

He could feel the hot sand singe his skin through his shirt as he landed and skidded across the hot surface.

Suddenly he saw through their strategy, "Shit, he went for Vallerie." Rafael thought as he quickly scrambled to his feet.

As he turned to run in that direction, he was grabbed by Rowan and thrown in the opposite direction, "Your opponent is me."

Loki stood there with a grin "Too bad for you then, your powers will never work on me girly" Loki said taking a step forward

Vallerie stood there unaffected by Loki's threatening posture "You will fall for me whether you want to or not" She said with a arrogant yet confident tone in her voice, just then as she finished her sentenced a large fist made out of sand shot by Vallerie's right side and smashed into Loki's face causing him to fall onto his back "See?" Vallerie said with a smirk "you fell for me"

Loki slightly dazed by what just happened started to get back up when to large arms shot up on either side of him breaking through the caravans wooden bottom gripping him tightly around the chest and yanking him through the floor boards "Get him away form the Caravan" Vallerie shouted, and the man who had grabbed Loki gave a shout letting Vallerie know he had herd her orders

"Who are you!" Loki shouted in frustration as he struggled to turn around to see who had grabbed him

"Just some humble mercenary's" the man said throwing Loki out from under the caravan, Loki easily turned around in the air and landed safely on his feet only to come face to face to a large muscular man (The one who had grabbed him) and another man hidden by a long robe's and a hood, a mage by the looks of it and probably the man who had hit him with the fist of sand earlier.

"Only two of you?" Loki said with a smile "That should be easy enough, I was just caught off guard there for a moment"

"Two? Dont leave me out" A women's voice said from behind Loki, but before he could even turn around he felt a rush of air blast past him and the Women appeared in front of him standing between him and the two other men, she stood up and turned to face Loki. Hmmm you have some pretty good reflexes on you to be able to dodge that one" the said with a smile as a cut in Loki's clothes appeared, "Oh, did I mention, you might wanna watch out" the women said to Loki, but it was too late, chains wrapped around Loki's body restraining his movements he struggled to get free but was soon flung up into the air and slammed down into the sand.

"Heh, I forgot to introduce myself I guess" a man said that had been standing behind Loki with the swords women, his hands gripping the other end of the chains that had restrained Loki and slammed him into the desert sand "How about we finish this quickly"

Gabriel flopped on the blanket spread out, with a groan of relief. The rogues were making a fire and cooking meat.

He stirred as the tantalizing smell of the cooked food began to surround them. Sitting up, he waited till he was sure they were done eating (he had learned that painful lesson quick) then made his way to the food, trying to ignore the piercing stares of the other rogues; he took some meat and rice and began to eat.

He was on his third helping when he heard low growls in the distance, getting closer. "What?! He said, eyes wide and mouth full.

"Desert predators, " A rogue said indifferently, using a piece of wood to clean his teeth.

Gabriel looked around frantically but Zalem was no where in sight.

A growl issued from the darkness beyond the light from the fire. There was a silence as everyone stood with their backs to the fire, staring out in the direction of it. Gabriel's head turned as he heard its footsteps move around and wondered if he had time to sprint for his guns in the tent. The glimpse of a shadow in front of it told him he didn't.

A predator lunged for one of the men, and was punched hard on the nose for its trouble. More predators appeared and the bandits split up, each trying to fight the predators off the camp. Gabriel, with no powers of his own and his guns out of reach, was hopelessly trying to placate two who were prowling towards him with bits of meat and rice. The two animals completely ignored it, moving over the food towards him as he moved backwards. Then one got bored and lunged for him. He squeaked and ducked, letting the creature leap over him. Unfortunately, this move left him in the middle of two predators intent on him as food.

A rogue jumped back, then let out a yell as his foot caught in a peg and he went crashing into the tent. He stood up, with arms flailing.

"HEY! HEY YOU!" Gabriel yelled out urgently, "My guns, hurry pass them over!"

"HUHHH?!" The bandit said looking left and right and then spotted a pair of expensive looking guns on the floor of the tent he had just ripped apart. "Heehee," he picked them up and stuffed them in his waist band and jumped once again into the fight.

"Why?! That scoundrel!" Gabriel fumed.

He kicked one of the predators hard in the side, sending it skidding across the ground with a whimper. He was fairly sure he'd felt a rib crack beneath his foot. The bandit with his guns faltered as Gabriel launched himself onto his back with no regard for the large predator. He staggered forwards as Gabriel's weight landed on him, and then straightened sharply, trying to throw Gabriel off. He clung on tightly, hands feeling around his waistband and grabbing both guns from their makeshift positions. He slid back to the floor, clicking off the safety catch and shot the bandit directly in the heart.

'That's for stealing my guns,' he said darkly. Turning, he shot the predator, which fell with a heavy thud. He shot it once more to make sure it was dead, and then turned back to the fight, shooting two more for bandits to then dispatch.

The horse died just a day after they crossed the border to the infamous desert. A simple burial and Chun Hei was off hunting again. She felt cold, hungry and tired but whatever her target did to her was worth it. She felt numb to anything after awhile...just like her pain. After all, she lost her last touch of humanity. Death doesn't bother me anymore...not until I have him on the ground in his own fluid...enough blood to repay his sins...

And she dragged on. Fatigue caught up quickly but her will was too strong to stop her.

Zalem sat on a large rock, watching the girl as she trekked across the sandy desert.

She walked on determinedly, but it was obvious that she was reaching her limit, especially under the scorching heat of the desert. Zalem was amused but he had to give her credit for hard work. Much more than his bloody rogues did.

She suddenly spotted him, her eyes widening in surprise and then her fists clenching, "YOU!" she yelled, "IM HERE FOR JUSTICE!"

"Oh?" Zalem drawled, "Is that why you've been following me, girly? I was hoping it was a more interesting reason."

"You are evil...a dirty existence!" Chun Hei yelled, panting already from her exhausting journey yet her eyes blazed with fury. "I will wipe you out,"

Zalem kept sitting, his posture lazy and unconcerned.

Chun hei let out an angry yell and charged at him.
