Akira nodded and looked at Futoshi for a few minutes then turned her attention to the mouse.
Posted 5/9/11
Futoshi's face was half hidden in the dark.

"God knows what he is thinking," the mouse squeaked.

Akira looked at it in surprise. Talking mouse was pretty much a norm but it hardly speaks. A sentence must have been quite a feat. The mouse led her to an Inn full of rowdy people. No one even notice them when they enter. The mouse led her to the second floor.

"That room at the end is all yours. Master has to do something at night. You should get some rest. It will be a long day tomorrow," and the mouse scampered off.

Akira walked into the room and sat down in a chair in front of a table and pulled out some cards. She looked around to make sure no one was listening or near by. "Let's see what your future holds" whispered Akira. Akira was going to read Futoshi's future.
Posted 5/9/11
The cards were pretty messed up. Akira frowned. This is the first time she has gotten such lousy reading. She gathered the cards and reshuffled. There were all messed up again!

"I give up!" she resigned and began packing the cards back into her pouch. Just as she was about to finish with the packing, a card fell out.

It was Death.

Akira stared at the card and shivered. She quickly picked it up and held it in her hands. "Is this...." whispered Akira quietly. She then put the card away, hoping that what she did was kept secert. She sighed and got up and went to the window and stared out with a thoughtful look on her face. If anyone came in, she would not have notice. She was thinking of what the card meant for him or what it means.

"You don´t have to know, Erik." Kayla wanted to go past the twins and into the cottage but was stopped by Erik´s hand which grabbed her arm. She turned around and looked him straight into the eyes to make him let her arm go. But the problem was that both of them were really stubborn. Elijah who felt the tension walked between the two.

"Kayla, I know you never talk to us about your past but we are fed up with all this secrets and mystery. We don´t ask you to tell us all about yourself at once, but we´d like to know this small thing. You sometimes have this faraway look in your eyes, we want... no we demand to know more things about you. We said that you´re like a mother to us and we meant it." Elijah too looked her into the eyes and Kayla saw the strength and the same determination in it like in Erik´s eyes. She giggled in resignation.

"You too always remind me of him when you have these expression. Come on, we shouldn´t stay here." They walked to a group of small rocks and sat down.
Kayla looked at the sky and began to talk. "I don´t know if you noticed or if you didn´t care, but I´m not a normal human. I won´t age nor will I die. And Kyle was an ancestor of you 500 years ago." The twins eyes widened. “He was also something like my first love you could say.” Kayla added.

Jade buttoned her brown riding breeches and pulled on a loose white shirt, she sat down on her bed and held her boots upside down and thumped the under sole to make sure there were no deadly stowaways in her boots and pulled them on.

She then left the cottage and walked over to the stables; the two young stable hands were hard at work, cleaning the stalls and feeding the horses. They called out greetings to her and nodded at them to continue their work and went over to the stall at the far end of the barn.
A tall, dark gray horse tossed back it's mane and gave her a reproving look.
"There there, Captain." Jade smiled as she placed a hand on the muzzle of her horse. "You just sired a baby boy, aren't you happy?"
The horse tossed back it's head again and Jade grinned before opening the stall door and helping the horse out. She saddled the horse, noting the weather through the barn window. "A storm will be here in a few hours, let's check on the plantations shall we, Captain?'
She pulled herself up on the saddle and took off towards the plantations at a trot.

"So you loved him?' Elijah muttered. "What happened?"
Erik still looked shocked. For some reason, he just never thought Kayla would be interested in girly stuff like...love.

Akira stayed up to hear the footsteps of her new companions. But the night was quiet. It was just before twilight when she fell asleep. Unknown to her, soft padding could be heard near her door. But it did not open.

There was a soft knock on her door. Sleepy, Akira groaned a little as she crawled out of bed. Who is knocking at a time like this? Rubbing her eyes, she took a look at the sundial at the town square. It was already noon! Pulling her overcoat quickly, she almost stumbled over a chair before hurrying to open the door. There stood Futoshi. His face was much more relaxed as compared to the day before.

Before she realised it, she caught herself staring too hard at his expressionless face. Flustered, she turned away. She could hear Futoshi smile. She stared up at him shyly. A ray of light caught his attractive foxy features and she found herself blushing again.

"Sorry about yesterday," Futoshi finally said in a hoarse voice. Or was it husky? Akira dared not look up again and merely nodded.

Patting her head, he let his hand stray down to her left cheek. Then, he pinched it.

"Wake up, sleepy head. We got a long day ahead," he laughed.

Kayla punched Erik slightly on the shoulder. "You look like you found out that the world is a sphere and not a disk. Yeah I kind of was in love with a man, what's so surprising about it?"Erik blinked several times.
"Well... eh... nothing... eh." Elijah helped his brother "I think what my brother is going to ask is what happened to the both of you?"
"Well it wasn't a happy ending like you see. At first we didn't know who he was, he had lost his memories and I met him on one of my missions. Later we found out that he was Kyle Teef, leader of the rebellion and a great man. I won't go into details but we had lots of adventures and during our time together I became an immortal being because of an accident, a shitty ancient mirror and a so-called friend of mine."
"What do you mean with accident?", interrupted Erik.
"I'll tell you about it another time." Both didn't look very happy about it. "Well and how did it end with you abd Kyle?" The normally quick-tempered Erik now seemed like a little boy fascinated of a story. "Kyle had a family and he never found out about my feelings towards him. Don't make such sad expressions. I know now that these feelings were born because if my admiration of him. I mistook most of it as love towards a male but it was rather a love I feel towards a brother. I learned a lot if him and I'm proud that I could be his friend.

Alistair coughed when he breathed in the dusty air inside of the small room at the local inn “This is really all your have?” Alistair said to the short, round women that stood beside him.

She had a one piece dress on along with a white apron that loosely swung on her neck due to being untied in the back, probably because she didn't have enough string to do so “For the price you paid it sure is” she said in a low voice.

“Thanks” Alistair said in a not so enthusiastic voice as he dropped his small bag of belongings onto the ground, the women gave a nod and left his room, shutting the door on her way out, Alistair let out a grumble as he fell backwards onto his bed and looked up at the ceiling, the room was not only dusty but also small. Alistair mumbled to himself as he sat up, his clothes consisted of a red sleeveless vest, that he himself had attached a hood to the back of through the use of a belt and some sewing along with an eye-patch that sat on top of his head, his pants were also a reddish color completed with some leather shoes and a belt that hung around his waist, hanging from the belt were multiple dolls and doll heads.
“Now what” Alistair said to himself as he took out his trusty pocket knife and started to flip it around his in hand as he sat there with a slightly dejected look on his face thinking about his next move.

Futoshi smiled reassuringly. "Everything's gonna be fine. Brighten up! Your cute face looks better with a smile."

And he led the way out of the inn. He stopped at a stable next door and began bargaining with the horseboy. The Boss came out grumbling after hearing the din but gave in to Futoshi's charm. Soon, Futoshi was offering his hand to pull her up a rather boring horse.

Akira took his hand and looked up at him. "I trust you on your word" said Akira. She rode a horse before when was living in her village before she had to leave it. Akira made sure everything was secure in her bag.

Futoshi kept silent the whole journey. Even the mours stopped squeaking midway. Akira looked up at the skies. Not even a sign of life. This situation is awkward......

Akira cleared her throat distinctively.

"We are heading to A small town near Bal' Azul," Futoshi replied before she could even ask. "It's best you stay outside town this time. That squeaky thing will stay with you."

Akira was shocked at his tone towards his travel companion. She was even more surprised at the mouse's relenting to his shocking behavior.

Nearing the town, the mousy friend tugged at Akira's horse's reign. It stopped right outside the gates to the village. Futoshi got down his horse and entered the village. For the first time, Akira could not recognise his back with disappeared behind the gates. He seemed to be be a different person altogether.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Futoshi walked purposefully to the Chief's Hut.

"Your purpose?" The Chief's guard asked roughly.

"A little something shiny," and Futoshi rattled some coins in his pocket.

The guard looked at him closely and decided that he is not suspicious. before stepping aside.

"Ah. Fu-chan! Take a seat! I've been expecting you," the Chief greeted gleefully as Futoshi entered the hut. "So, how's it going?"

"As we expected. The Village in the north thinks The village at the foot of the mountain is preparing for a tribal war."

"Yes, yes. That's what we want. When they clash, we move in and take hold of the situation. You are amazing, Fu-chan! I don't know how I can reward you! If we didn't meet, I would have lost my position we both of them coming heads on at me!" The Chief clapped Futoshi's back hard.

Choking, Futoshi quickly recovered and feigned a pause.

"Is something the matter?" the chief asked, getting a little worried.

"It's just that...much preparation is needed so I have to travel for a long...I mean It's not like I want to leave this place...the situation is so delicate," Futoshi said carefully, planting his pauses strategically.

"NOW, WHERE'S THE OH-SO-CONFIDENT YOU?" The Chief boomed. "We owe you so much. I can provide anything you need as long as you are my advisor. Supplies? I can give you as much as you need!"

Futoshi sighed with relief. "Thank you, Sir. I think I owe you much more."

"NONSENSE! THIS IS NOTHING FOR OUR RISING STAR! " The chief laughed loudly. Scribbling on a piece of parchment, he sent Futoshi off to the Head Chef for some supplies.

A few hours later, Futoshi was dragging a few bags of supplies towards them. The mouse ran forward to help

Futoshi and the mouse loaded the horse with the supplies. They had been awarded with another horse for a job well done and Futoshi hopped up gracefully and took the reins of the horse Akira was sitting on, "Lets go!" he said pulling on the reins as the mouse clambered up hurriedly with Akira.

"Hmmm," Futoshi stopped then made a decision, "I think we'll cut through pass, it will save us half a day and we'll be at the destination by night fall."

"T-the pass," the mouse squeaked, "But there are all kinds of horrors there,"

"If you stay quiet, everything will be fine," Futoshi said and turned the horses towards the pass.

Despite the mouse's apprehension, he was relieved to see that indeed they ran into no big troubles and soon he began to relax.

It was not until they were more than half the distance through the pass that they heard the first screeches.

Futoshi, Akira and the mouse all stiffened as the screeches came closer. Suddenly the sky was full of flve or six long, flying, lizard type creatures.

They circled the sky, apparently looking for food.
