I can't understand why people can stand to like One Piece or Fairy Tail.

I'll admit the top three Anime are: Naruto --> Bleach --> One Piece.

I don't think any current Anime have the capabilities to reach "Top Three" status.

Its because of the art

I admit the first time i saw One piece i thought its going to Blow because it look stupid
But then I gave it a try .... and I liked it very much and my fave manga among the Big 3

I gave it 12 episodes. Good enough for me to recognize it was a terrible Anime. Stretchy man just does not suite my flavor.

One Piece is amazing.
I don't know wtf is going on in Bleach with the fullbring arc (really wtf is this)
Naruto is having a big finale, I mean, what more could you do with it?

Main Point:
I don't give a shit about the next "big 3" as long as One Piece is still there.

I see Fairy Tail going strong for at least another year and a half. I still don't get the love affair with One Piece. I gave up on it looong ago. Haven't seen or read Toriko so IDK. Main character looks like the spawn of Gintoki and Yamucha on steroids. Bleach anime is at that 'why is this still on phase' and Naruto is going strong again but probably not much longer. So, who knows really. I say alternate storylines for side characters in Bleach and Naruto. That would work.

Let's face it, it really is hard to pull off two or more story arcs in one series, and it doesn't really matter if it's an adaptation or an original anime.

As I said from a thread similar to this one, I've predicted that Belzeebub, Sket Dance and Psyren (if ever they make an anime of this.) I guessed correctly when Belzeebub hits the silver screen but the other 2 is yet to be judged.

Since gintama has returned the only one really awaiting a potential return is KHR. Its popularity is healthy but as much as I dislike saying it, I doubt it'll reach the popularity of any of the current "big 3's"

That leaves me to guess Gintama will be one of them along with Beelzebub and Fairytale judging on popularity.

But everyone must understand is that the "Big 3" fall under the paradigm set by the Lord of all action/super-power anime Dragon Ball Z. So for consideration of a spot in the supposed new "Big 3" the anime would have to contain or have pertinent essentials/elements that catapulted DBZ to the glory that is has, had and is forever known which is it's fighting, animation, characters, powers and lengthiness of the series. Naruto, Bleach and One Piece carry all. There are others worthy to compete. Instead of seeing a new 3 i would prefer to add to the equation and be spoiled with a return of "D Gray Man" & "KHR." FMA is a king of its own right but doesn't span over 100 eps…but I digress. Please comment on my thoughts.

I find it amusing how there's only the "big 3" ever mentioned,
"In 2010 One Piece again maintained its top spot with 32,343,809 copies sold, more than second Naruto, third Kimi ni Todoke, fourth Fairy Tail, fifth Bleach and sixth Fullmetal Alchemist combined." OP wiki. (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2010-11-30/top-selling-manga-in-japan-by-series/2010 for their source)
So Bleach is barely even top 5, being beaten by Fairy Tail and KnT, and only selling 40k more volumes than FMA.. I don't really care for OP, despite that, it's impossible to argue with the numbers saying it's huge, but I do still enjoy Bleach and Naruto, and Fairy Tail is fun and still relatively fresh feeling.

I suspect that the big three will include OP and Naruto for some time to come, but I haven't seen anything new that strikes me as likely to displace Bleach (in name recognition stateside, anyway) or Fairy Tail, with the possible exceptions of Beelzebub or Toriko,

The term big 3 actually refers to the top 3 Weekly Shounen Jump mangas. The original concept actually has nothing to do with their anime adaptions, nor mangas from other magazines. That also excludes Fairy Tail from the listing.

While Bleach's recent rankings have been quite average, there isn't really anything to replace it right now. The closest series are currently Gintama, Bakuman, Toriko and Beelzebub. Of those:

Gintama - Not really mainstream enough
Bakuman - The projected length of the series may be an issue.
Toriko - Mainstream, but a strange series and sales aren't all that high yet.
Beelzebub - Can't really say.

Currently, it would be more accurate to call it a big 2. Toriko on the front of the recent cover is mainly promotion for the new anime (and not too indicative of it being a part of the big 3), but this does suggest Bleach has lost it's place.

I'm going to say this,
Blue Exorcist(hard to tell at this point, but it's deviated from the manga slightly, hugely hyped in Japan and the interview with the mangaka on ANN is an obvious attempt at penetrating the western market. This doesn't mean it will be the next long series but certainly has that formula that it could follow. School, Exorcising Demons, monster of the week?)

Fairy Tail(70+episodes and a cross over manga http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2011-04-20/fairy-tail-x-rave-crossover-manga-1-shot-published )

Third one will probably be Beezlebub.

Blue Exorcist
Fairy Tail
Beezlebub

Big 3, should probably be next 100+ series, or maybe epics.

That was pretty much my point, actually.. WSJ is not the be-all-end-all in manga. It is important, to be sure, but really, too many fans forget that there are other, more popular series (with the obvious exception of OP, as it's pretty much the most popular thing ever, with numbers to back that claim) and that disliking one, two or all of the big three is not grounds for fanning the regular flame wars over them.
