Whoever can, please respond to my points that are below in an objective manner (objective responses can answer/respond to points at times that won't get serious debates)

I often see people complain how Funi or other companies use the same talent over and over.First of all: When you have talent, you use them over and over. Because English dubbed voice acting is smaller in talent compared to Japan, you re-use the talent. My question is this: If people are going to complain about the same English dub talent being re-used, then shouldn't they complain how the Japanese tend to re-use many seiyuu? The situation is exactly the same in any form of entertainment in any language: While new talent can be hard to get, the same talent tends to get re-used because they can do the job and because they can develop a fan base.

Goes for any anime: While the show may be written for a Japanese audience, that's not always the intent. I would suspect there is a feint chance sometimes the Japanese might say akin to "While it was indeed written for a Japanese audience, what we had envisioned was it get a release for the English-speaking audience first". That's right, I would imagine sometimes the Japanese wanted an English dub first but that is so difficult to have a finished product without the Japanese language version to have as source material.

Personally, some of you guys're just reading too much into this. You even haven't heard a single clip of it in english. So how can you gauge that it would be "bad"? It's like running into a dead end.

I don't see what the big deal is with Todd doing Natsu. He has done a great job as Death the kid in Soul Eater and Allen Walker in D.Gray-man (Lin in FMA brotherhood) I mean When I heard he was doing Natsu I found it interesting and it makes me curious as of how he will do Natsu.

I don't see why complain people are complainiung about dubs I was thrilled to see that Fairy Tail finally got licensed and is getting dub and I didn't care what company got it as long as it will be dubbed I am happy. I'm not very picky when it comes to dubs because I'm just one of those people who are at least grateful that it was dubbed in the first place. I also don't understand why there is so much hate towards funimation to begin with since they get quite a bit of licenses to anime.

thats where you're slightly wrong, there is an English dub of Fairy Tail just not Funimation's dub. anyways to the topic at hand I'm not that surprised by it but I am wondering if they'll acquire any other episodes past the 48 they have but, seeing that only the 76th episode aired not that long ago I guess they'll hold back to see how the dvd and bluray sales will do.

I want to know if Ezra's English dubbing voice will have a slightly husky quality like the Sayaka Ohara original.

That's true.

Well, whatever the decision. I trust them. At least there'll be no 4Kids-esque actor.

Troy did an amazing job in Tales of Vesperia, and now that you mention that, yeah he would do great for gray, just like Yuri, an Anti-Hero cool guy. Now if Estelle's VA played Juvia... lol

I assume Funimation still does dual language DVDs, like they did for DBZ.. Which makes this a good announcement.

I don't like dubs, generally speaking, just because I prefer to hear the original voice track.. This goes for any foreign language videos and films, not just anime. I have heard a few dubbed works that were good and watchable (Cowboy Bebop is king of this category), and I'll put up with dubs if that's all there is available (pre-dvd US released anime, almost across the board), but I would really rather have subtitles.

We could go on and on about the dub/sub war. End of Story Subs win, why? Quantity. Most anime isn't available dubbed so we watch it subbed, so therefor when the vast majority of our anime intake is subbed, and suddenly you see a dub, you criticize it harshly. Ever read japanese forums about crappy seiyuu work on certain anime? It exists in large quantity too guys & gals.
