Men who pause
Posted 4/23/11 , edited 4/30/11
You're sharing a conversation with someone or having a continuous flow of debate thrown back and forth. Do you get bothered by women or men who pause right smack in the middle. Or even a simple question and they fail to answer.

My grandma's faster then them. Yet these dudes feel they don't have to slip in any words.

'I'm talking to you hello, anyone there?' No response. You know what I mean. I'm talking about people who think it's okay to cut off a response. I have a friend who does that a lot with almost everything.

To what questions have your friends or anyone you know do this annoying pause at. Maybe I'm just impatient and moody.

i dont have any friends that do that but a trick i learnt that worked for me for like 7 yrs until they figured out what i was doing was whenever i thought i was losing the argument i just have a blank expression and just say"wait what were we talking about again" worked everytime somehow and the argument would just end just like that no one won no one lost, was awesome cause then we would continue the argument the next day or something and id use it again lmao

I do it. (But I'm not a guy.) Either to think, or consider if what I am about to say will sound stupid or not.

I do this all the time. I pause for about 1-3 seconds, and continue. People find it irritating, apparently.

Just thinking about it is irritating me. But hey, I should practice such a thing more often. I tend to speak to fill in all the awkwardness. I'd rather be dumb than leave an impression that I don't care for the conversation and lead to awkwardness. I think that's my faulty reasoning.

I'm talking about conversations. A friend of mine has a bit of a drawl (though others would consider it not heavy at all) and it's like he's speaking too slow. It's a Type A thing to want to finish people's sentences for them (which isn't thoughtful really). Then again, this isn't about how fast people talk...is it? Well, too fast is not to my taste either. Like this one girl from youtube...juicystar07 or whatever.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZi7VfF1M8Q It's not hard to follow, and she's not that fast, but she pauses less and I feel like I'm being drilled and it's not a comfortable level of speech...

Enough of my talking. Be wise with your words. =]

I would, I'd make you eat plenty of chocolate to get you hyper to speak faster! >.<!

Girls around her do that often, probably cause they're retarded or something...

Sometimes I need to take a deep breath.

In my English class, most of the guys do that...and then they just never answer all the way but stare at each other. Then, they giggle. O.o It could be annoying but I don't really care.

I've never encountered anyone who's done that, but it does sound annoying.

It is, they come off quite retarded unless they have a stuttering problem...
