What's your stress response?
Posted 4/27/11
When you're stressed what's your response? It can be gestures, words or even thoughts that run your mind.

I put my forehead into my palm like the David statue and other times I do that with my chin and stroke it too.

So when you're stressed what do you find yourself doing without you're volition? What habits do you have in moments of strain?

Breathing exercises, meditation, make some food, take a nap, sip some wine, write in a journal, take a shower, go for a walk. Those are all things I might do if I'm stressed, angry, or emotional.

Cook, but don't eat the food I make. Go outside, but stay in the perimeter of my property. Go on the computer.
Read a book. Watch Food Network, TLC or Discovery. When all else fails, throw eggs.

for some reason, my head starts moving round and round while i sigh deeply. another response would be growling loudly and keeping my mouth open for a long time till someone tells me its open.

Cry and then get over it, or take a nap.

Punch and grope my sex doll, or just talk to my BF. They're both so cute I can't be mad when they're around.

There's different responses for various stress put on me..
1. I widen my eyes a little and squeeze my lips together out of anger
2. I breathe in and out angrily (but quietly xD)
3. I start yelling *cough in my mind*
4. I listen to music

Sometimes it's crying and letting it all out and yelling and sighing. I've broken things, crumpled things, thrown things away, and burned things. Usually I try to do more healthy choices, though. But it depends on why I'm stressed, the intensity, the situation/environment, etc.

I snap at people.
Rub my forehead/temples.
Punch things.
When i have huge stress,
I'll start to cry.

**I also listen to really
heavy screamo music.

Most of the time I just hold it in and put a smile on my face, try to brush it off. But if I can't I usually do these things.

Super minor stuff, I talk under my breath, usually being sarcastic or mocking the other person said, usually it's them telling me to do something they should do themselves..

More than that, ranges from closing my eyes and rubbing my forehead, to closing my eyes and slapping my face with both hands.

And if I get super stressed and frustrated that is usually when we gotta take it outside.
