Nothing out of the ordinary happens. Except for the digits in your age going up by 1.

Turning 18 was lame. I don't know why everyone gets so excited.
There's nothing good about it.
You get taxed more, can go to jail longer, and have to pay bills.
No more sucking off your momma's titty.

So overall, turning 18 blew.

Not 18 yet, but even if I become that age in a few years I would probably be feeling the same as I am now @_@

And I swear you can get nose piercings and have anywhere on your body hole punched when you become 16 o_O

One of my neighbors is still a kid, about 11 years old max, and he has two piercings since a couple of years ago. I mean, what's the big deal? it's like having earrings.
I am not eighteen yet, but I'll miss being underage when that happens. Think about it, you must be underage for 18 years, but an adult for decades.

Turning 18 isn't really a big deal to me I'll be studying, live away from home (unless it's vacation time), and my dad will still be strict. All that would change is just my age...
Posted 5/20/11
Nothing changed for me, I still do the same things I did when I was seventeen!
But actually buying alcohol is obviously much easier :'D

I miss being a child, I can only get older now ; A ; I DON'T WANNA TURN 19 EVER. D;

Got a beer bought for me at the White Hart from Amy Pratt, one of my peers from school. Unfortunately I don't like beer, so I had to follow each swig with a handful of peanuts. I'd been given money to buy a bottle of wine to celebrate and Mark, one of my other peers was working at Safeway. He goes: "Are you 18?" I goes "I will be when I drink it". I was, too. Still got the cork.

You can do pretty much do all but a few things when you turn 18. Because you can do something doesn't mean it would be a good idea. For example 35 is my real age and I do not drink, smoke nor do I have a tattoo. Why? Alcoholism runs in my family and I know I have a weak will when it comes to saying no to certain things. If I never drink or smoke then I'm not really missing anything including the very high cost of both and the medical (or even psychological) problems that can come from long term use of either/both. Being 18 doesn't entitle you to anything, just that you can do something legally that you could not before (like that stops anyone).

There is a good reason why they have age limits on things and always remember that you are supposed to be able to weigh the good with the bad and decide from there, I just decided to not do those things. The tattoo on the other hand was because "I wanna be different", but lately so many people have tattoos that my not having one makes me different.

Turning 18 wasn't a big deal for me. To be honest, I still feel like I'm 15 or 16. xD

So do I. You can feel that way for a long time if you take care of yourself and not consider age a bad thing. Sure I'd rather be 14 now knowing what I know now, but that's not going to happen, so just look forward.

so as my birthday is coming up in the very near future ~
I'm gonna be officially an "adult"
part of mes like okay cool i can get a tattoo ~ well i can't really i would be killed, and i don't want one
but the options open
i am however gonna get my nose done, i always said i'd do it!!! im doing it!! (by done i mean pierced okay )
stuff them ~ oh the troubles of an adolescent with strict folks ~ i love them tho

~ anyway how was turning 18 like for you? or
~ how do you feel about turning 18?

I'm thinking beach party!!! ~ can't wait

but ...

part of me is like i don't wanna get older you know!! ~ guess i'll get over it
i always do

First and most importantly another welsh person thought I was the only one on here

Well for my 18th I did the classic and get drunk (well legally ) for the first time though I still wish I could remember more of it..... Tattoo's are pretty good I have one myself but I wouldn't get one just for the sake of being 18 unless you have wanted one for a while and have a design you really like. Piercings are fine as they can heal up but your stuck with a tattoo though if you get one you like their awesome which is why I love mine

Beach Party in Wales? I see a small problem know as the welsh weather lol but sounds awesome you should get a barbacue as well.

Finally I know how you feel I really don't want to be 20 next year as to me it feels like the end of being young with no longer being a teen

wowser...Thoreau is overrated

Well, when I turned 18...I went to see ALICE in Wonderland....or shall I say Wonder LAME!

I was throughly disappointed (as well as DEEPLY embarrassed) by how horrible the movie was. Seriously, that was the icing on the cake that made me give up on JD and TB films in general. (gags softly in background)

The funniest thing however, was the obnoxious idiot behind me who kept gagging and yelling "Arf, Umh! Choking on a d*ck!" every ten minutes.

he looked to be about my age, and his mother kept telling him to "Settle down." And, "Seriously, why do you have to be an a$$ all the time, humm?!"

it was dumb.

On top of that.. That was the day I lost all my friends. (ok, not ALL of them, but one that I was rly close with)

I found out my friend was a backstabber. Her b-day was a day before mine, and oddly enough I did not get invited. And when the next day came and it was my b-day, she acted all stunned and said she didn't know my birthday was the day AFTER hers (mind you, I've known her for 4 years!!!!)
we got into a row. And it ended with her leaving and taking my supposedly shy male friend along with her (reason to why I no longer trust guys who play the "shy" card....they're sneaks!)

I didn't care we weren't friends anymore, I kinda saw that one coming. However, I was royally bummed since I already bought her a gift and gave it too her a day prior to her actual b-day

I had a awesome cake tho....*yum*......Vanilla layers withcream frosting and glazed Strawberry, Peach filling......*rolls eyes in ecstacy*
Yea...that cake was awesome.......

I did NOT feel grownup... BUT when I turned 19....now that's a different story...

arf, umm- choking on a.....

i TOTALLY agree with everything you said about the age limits being there for good reasons, as well as your reasons for not wanting to drink (my parents are the same way - they both had alcoholics in their fams)

And as for the tat part.....Seriously, whats with that? More and more people are jumping on that train. And usually those very same people also are the people normally talking about Consumerism this, and non Conformist that, and I'm sooo Liberal this...
Honestly, its kinda annoying.
what part of their not UNIQUE, nor DIFFERENT don't those idiots get...
