if its my own rubbish i will hold it in my hands until i found a rubbish bin but if its other rubbish i see on the floor i will kind of leave it as it is the "someone eles will clean up" mindset lah i think most singaporean also like that de

Well maybe Singaporeans are getting daring, but then it's quite true. How often do you see people getting caught for littering? I've never seen people dispatched by MOE patrolling the dirtier areas to catch litter bugs. Even so, littering is a split second thing. When they catch without evidence, the litter bug might even sue back because of harrassment. It's all about their mindset lar, that's all i can say.

okay... at least you pick up after yourself... ^^ i dont really go around picking up other people's litter... unless its like really freaking obvious and there's a bin nearby... oh OH... while i was walkig along orchard the other day, i noticed that there were rubbish bins like every 10m... and like when you're in the heartlands... its like one every what... 50m radius? lol... tho it doesnt really change the mindset... maybe putting rubbish bins at more frequent intervals all over the island would help to cultivate a habit of throwing away one's garbage... BUT i realize that the mindset doesnt really change cos of this... we have to love our country enough to want to help keep it clean...

I don't really litter, lol. Try my best not to. xD Feel guilty when I do litter and then I'll be picking it up and throwing it away in the bin. > <

In the morning when I go to school, the whole area is practically covered in thrash. O.o

When people say SG is a "Clean And Green" city,I kinda laugh in my heart...

And I don't think I ever saw anyone patrolling crowded areas for litter bugs. O_o

Anyone ever seen one in Orchard?

Ah... So pro Singapore here. Like the feeling.

I really think that we should first look at other countries and their state of 'mess' before we make that judgemental conclusion that SG is dirty.

Sure, there can be unsightly places, but I believe there're worse places in other countries.

oh man... like what i saw today totally confirms its an attitude problem and not the lack of rubbish bins... in orchard road... outside the hilton hotel.. there are rubbish cans every 20? metres... and there is still a whole lot of garbage in between them... seriously... its hardly considered inconvenient or even exercise to walk like a few steps out of your way to throw away your Big Gulp cup or empty chips packet... but i do concede the fact that some of this may be left by tourists and all...

Agreed, Singapore isn't very clean. But, to be considered a First world country, I suppose it's good enough aye? I feel sorry for the uncle who has to pick it up. I wish everyone could just be responsible enough. Ofcourse, that's WAY TOO MUCH too ask la ;D
