~The thought suddenly came to me what if we were born into this world w/o emotions? That the things that will be on our mind we be the most basic things humans need, like the need to feed, clean ourselves, sleep to rejuvenate energy and move on with life like a robot that's been automatically programmed to the same things over and over and over again until we die.Now wouldn't that be interesting? What are your thoughts on this?

"Emotions" are overrated. We'd still have desires and dreams we'd want to seek. Even ideals we'd want to achieve.

Being human is more then crying and laughing or getting angry. It's about life and living it to it's fullest in your ideal way. Even if we'd be like robots there'd be a distinction for example between exerting yourself and being more relaxed. We can always differentiate. Emotions alone aren't the reason people develop preferences or thoughts on how things should be.

Emotions are given more credited than is due.

Then we'd be called "Vulcans", not "Humans."

Vulcans have emotions, they just suppress them through meditation.

Humans have emotions for a reason, ie. as a survival mechanism; if we had no emotions, we would stagnate and die very quickly. Without the emotion of fear, we would end up putting ourselves in unnecessary danger. Without anger and sadness, we would not feel any need to change society for the better, or to invest in new technologies and medicine. Without love and affection, we might not even care for our young, resulting in the next generation and ultimately our entire species dying.

That question is illogical. Emotions are not "implanted within us" as you suggest.

We would be robots. I don't have any feelings. Yet Im a little sadistic. But to survive in this world is a natural human instinct. And the will to live is the feeling that which we treasure.

I don't care about or have emotions for other people at all, but I do care about myself.

We wouldn't be humans in the first place.

Wait. We wouldn't die out but there would be no passion, no creativity what-so-ever so most of the things you see and use everyday would not exist just from the fact that no one would "want" to invent anything to better them and the world.
