Against the odds?
Posted 5/8/11 , edited 5/8/11
Have any of you been in a hard situation where you're against the odds?

Please tell me/us your experiences and the outcome. Especially your most hardest stressful and emotionally draining situations if any.

I'm going to write any experience I can think of later, I feel so dizzy so I'm keeping this post short.

Well once I was to make a presentation, siding with the side that not many students in my class favored...
I could have felt the tension and hear all of the sighs and disapproval, to even boredom. As I spoke, for it was in a speech class, I remember this one guy snicker and practically laugh, thinking how silly it was that I was siding with that side, how foolish I was. I wanted to prove all of those obnoxious kids wrong, but I was just one person and they were more than one. It hurt to feel the uneasiness of the audience, of their utter disapproval of the subject. I was at full lost by the end, but at least I got a good grade, I specially get very emotional, for I was at a lost and tried to mae them understand and open up, but it didn't seem to help...It was allowing people, regardless of sexual orientation the same rights, for they were people too, yet what I saw, was that it was as if they were a different species, as if I was a different species too... I am happy that homosexuals have more rights now, though , at least where I live. If you find this offensive, then sorry, just ignore it and read the other posts or other threads. thanks .

I passed my exams with high grades against the odds , I did not revise one bit and I had broken ribs so sitting down hurts, laughing hurts, and pretty much everything else so I barely did anything for the exams. Sweeeet.

Get on a team with newbs, and actually win. You'll be wondering how you won all week.

I'm still wondering how I won. Considering the other four were assholes that ran straight into campers and only managed to take one down. <_<

Went to my local electronic store's website and saw, that there was an competition. You needed to listen to people humming different songs and pick the right choice. For every single right chose, you got one chance of winning, and you could get as many as you would.
I only got one, and i WON

A chance at a job.

Saw an ad on the local newspaper and went to the company's HQ in person. Filled out the application & personal information form with resume attached.. Turns out I thought I had applied to a music company but it was something else entirely. And on the application I wrote that I live my life enjoying music. XD The employer called me that night and said I could start my shift on Monday.

You're against the odds everyday. Even on a casual day. It just varies from day to day what the odds are.

I guess the worst was my freshmen year in high school years back, boys would pull my hair, smash their bags on my face and make fun of me 'til I ran out of breath because of shouting and weeping at the same time. The girls would put their bling-blings in my locker and tell the teacher I stole it, bombarding me with the worst kind of verbal insults. Yep, drama.

I did once. I couldn't imagine something so big could fit in such a tiny hole. I wasn't eating my vegetables so I payed the price by shitting a brick. The agony, I didn't think I could ever go all the way with it.

When all hope was lost and I thought it was the end of me I managed to pull through. I heard a fly buzz when I died. It's uncertain stumbling buzz placed itself on my wall. I gazed at it and it at me. That's what gave me the courage to go on.

True story.
