More cast members announced for the new “HanaKimi”
by HPriest on June 15, 2011 at 5:10 pm

Last month it was announced that AKB48’s Maeda Atsuko would star in the reboot of the popular drama “Hanazakari no Kimitachi e – Ikemen Paradise“, widely known as just “HanaKimi“. Earlier today, Fuji TV finally revealed the main male cast as well as some of the supporting cast members.

Maeda is going to play a girl who has to disguise herself as a boy in order to enroll into a boys’ boarding school for a certain reason. Four years ago, it was actress Horikita Maki who portrayed the same role and was trapped in a complicated love triangle between the two main male characters portrayed by Oguri Shun and Ikuta Toma.

This year Nakamura Aoi and Miura Shohei will take over those important roles and hope to experience as much of a breakthrough as their seniors.

Nakamura’s thoughts about his role, “I’m aiming to not just portray Sano as an ikemen by appearance, but also show his hidden passion and strong willpower.”

Miura’s comment about replacing Ikuta for the role of Nakatsu, “I’m feeling happy and pressure at the same time. I’d like to become as foolish as possible in order to portray the role of Nakatsu to the best of my abilities.”

Other well-known characters from the original drama will be played by variety talent Yamada Shintaro (the younger brother of actress Yamada Yu), actor Mitsushima Shinosuke (the younger brother of actress Mitsushima Hikari) and theater heartthrob Takami Ozora. They’re all young talents who aim to make a name for themselves by repeating the same level of success as the original drama.

It was also revealed that popular singers who are famous on the Japanese streaming portal Nico Nico Douga will make surprise appearances throughout the drama.

“HanaKimi 2011″ will air on Fuji TV every Sunday at 9pm and is scheduled to begin sometime in July.

why have a remake? aren't they satisfied with the first one? for my opinion, the first version of hana kimi is still the best. if they remake it, why not have a season 2 but the same cast as before.

O.M.G.!! Miura Shohei is going to be in the drama too!! I LOVED him in Tumbling!! He looks SO much like an anime character! xD

Honestly I think Nakamura Aoi and Miura Shohei's should switch characters. They somehow fit the other's one. Shohei looks more like a Sano.

AKB48’s Kashiwagi Yuki to make her debut in “Hana Kimi”!
by halicolipocky on June 23, 2011 at 7:12 pm

Today, it was revealed that AKB48’s Kashiwagi Yuki (19) will make her debut as an actress in “Hanazakari no Kimitachi e ~Ikemen Paradise~ 2011” with Maeda Atsuko (19), who is also from AKB48. Kashiwagi will be playing a role of a rival to Maeda Atsuko’s character.

Even though Kashiwagi has acting experience, including “Magisuka Gakuen” which featured many AKB48 members, this will be Kashiwagi’s first time playing a role that is a part of a drama series. Kashiwagi stated with an excitement, “I am very happy to receive this opportunity but at the same time, I am really nervous.”

Maeda will play Ashiya Mizuki, a girl who pursues her unrequited love to an all-boys school dressed up as a boy, and Kashiwagi will take on a role of Kishinosato Juri, a daughter from a rich family who attends a prestigious high school. “I can turn on my ‘rich girl switch’ just by wearing the uniform,” said Kashiwagi enthusiastically.

This drama will present Kashiwagi’s character, Kishinosato and Maeda’s character, Ashiya, fighting over Sano Izumi (played by Nakamura Aoi). Kashiwagi declares, “Maeda and I often made racket backstage so I think it might become quite a battle, and since this is a drama, I will not hesitate to take her on.”

Goto Hiroyuki, the producer, added, “Kashiwagi is hard-working and has the eyes of determination which suit the role of Juri who has the character of ‘poisoning someone while smiling at the person’.”

“Hana Kimi” will start airing on July 10th in Japan.
