I wanted to take a drawing class, except I did not want to draw a nude model. As an art major, I had to take a drawing class. Not just drawing a nude female model, I had to draw a nude male model. Actually drawing a nude model was not as awkward as I thought, and it was just about capturing a movement of someone.

So would you draw a nude model?

I already have as part of an art program to get some college credits. It was more awkward for me than the model.

I think well for me it was awkward to draw the male, when I started to draw than it was okay. Before drawing I hid myself behind my drawing board.

I did nude drawings as well, and once you get past the initial anxiety of seeing a live person naked, you can focus in on capturing the form and art of the human body. It's normal for the mind to wander in those situations, but as long as you remain professional and respect your model, it should all come naturally.

even if i could probably not, i see no point in doing so...... i am very bad at drawing FYI

I would, though it would be awkward at first for me,I'd get use to it and over time I'll just see this as a chance to draw off of a model, which over time, would hopefully improve my art skills. It's not that bad, cause after that first time "WTF" or "OMG" moment, you get use to it and it just becomes normal, specially within an art class.

I've been doing nude drawings since I was a little kid. Why on earth would you not want to do it? O_o
"The naked human body is the most beautiful form of art" --Can't remember who said it. I don't understand why it would be awkward for you when it's not even you that's getting up to post nude O_o

If the nudist doesn't feel awkward why would you?

Well the last time i drew someone naked, i had a hard time concentrating.
I mean, he had a million dollar face, and the body of a greek god. Hair as smooth as silk, and blue eyes akin to the water of a caribbean lagoon.

Plus, the pose changed everytime i switched position infront of my mirror.

How do you expect to learn anatomy and the human form if you're not willing to look at it?
Posted 5/18/11
Sure. I draw stick figures with no clothes all the time.

You got a supermodel?

Yeah, I would..long as their body doesn't repulse me. Bettie Page would be the best, if she wasn't so dead.

I'd be mortified to see someone naked. Blushing the wholetime and may not even take a direct look at the model. Its just too embarrassing

I did it once before, and I'd do it again. I was more embarrassed by the fact my pencil skills were crap compared to my classmates and that my perspectives were all out of whack than the fact there was bush and tits (sorry for the graphic-ness) sitting over the way from me.
All I can say is thank god it wasn't one of my co-students 'cause I probably woulda spent more time staring and less time drawing...
Thankfully our school had some taste
