Yes, i will keep you informed of my progress, and if there is any problems i'll let you know.

Once Rhianora reassured Taiga that everything would be okay, and that they would be in contact. She let Taiga resume her practicing, and walked back to the park to get prepared for her trip, as well as notify the others of the change of plan. They would not be too happy to hear of this change, but it wasn't about pride here. It was about survival and common sense. This enemy was too dangerous to take lightly, and unless they perfected their skills more, they would not survive the environment for long. Those levels required expert flying abilities as well as the ability to nutralize heat. Taiga knew her people well and was aware that they needed more preparation. Rhianora also knew that Shane needed more time to discover his airial flight style and to perfect it, before he even considered going to the Fortress.

Rhianora had thought of taking Rei, but thought better of it because she notice that there seemed to be a potential for a strong bond between Shane and Rei. It was just under the surface and not too hard to miss, for someone who has psi powers like Rhianora's.

When Rhianora reached the park, she went directly to Rei and Shane to inform them of the change of plan. They were disappointed in the fact that they wouldn't be going to the Fortress yet, and that they would have to stay and practice, till they mastered their skills in airial warfare and flying, floating, spacejumping, or whatever happened to be Shane's airial ability. She instructed them to stay together as a group when deciding that they were ready to go to the Fortress, and that under no circumstances were they to try to catch up with her, because she planned to keep moving foward, and had no intention of allowing someone with less experience, to hold her back from her objective, which was to try and release as many Protectors as possible before the Mage returned from his trip. Besides the Protectors that she happens to release will accompany her through the rest of the Fortress.

Once Rhianora was done giving her group their instructions, she and Rhavin walked back to the forest where Taiga was practicing, and there she proceeded to open a very large portal which would lead close to the west-side of the Fortress. This was the portal Taiga and her group would use when it was time. Once this was done, she returned to the park and began to get her stuff together.

Rhianora attached a black leather backpack that was made of a very tough hyde. The pack had several outer compartments that contained very unusual tools she had collected over time, and that had been very useful in the many worlds she had visited. The main compartment of this pack was completely empty, because this was where Rhavin traveled in his Tuxedo form when Rhianora used her airial grapple-beam in places like the one they were going to. The pack had a flap cover with an opening just large enough for Rhavin to stick his head out, when he had to shoot lasers from his eyes, to help Rhianora with airial defense.

Now that Rhianora had her backpack on, she created the portal that would take her and Rhavin to the east-side of the Fortress, and that also would serve as a transport for Rei and Shane when they were ready to come through as well.

With everything set in motion, Rhianora waved goodbye to everyone in the park, and then she and Rhavin walked through the portal and disappeared.......

After the metamorph finished, she returned to a human state. Though Shane wasn't watching his familiar anymore, he was focused on the sparring blurs. Hm. Watching them gave him an idea . . . Buuut it would have to wait, (he had spent a few minutes to think up the idea) Rhianora was approaching. Her news was dissapointing, but he got where she was coming from.[xD I am so tempted to write out of character . . .] He exchanged a glance with Taco then nodded confirmation toward Rhianora. After she left he smirked at the orange- and white-haired girl.

"Hey, doofus." Taco flicked her gaze to him and he pointed up. He stood on the mace shaft and slowly floated up. The girl grew a puzzled expression on her face, then fell to her hands and knees. Silky white fur sprouted all over her body while she transformed. She grew a snout, a pair of ears, and a tail. Quickly, she became a flawlessly white wolf with diamond-colored eyes and a pair of large sky blue wings. She stretched her jaws wide, pearlies long and sharp. Shaking out her fur she ran a few feet then flapped her wings and took off into the air after her master. She heard his laugh right as he dissapeared within the clouds.

Taco's nose, also pure white, twitched as she tried to locate his scent. Without warning, his mace came spinning at her and hit her in the muzzle. She yelped as it hit her then began it's descent from the sky. Narrowing her clear eyes, Taco flew toward the spot where it came from and dove through it. But he wasn't there, even though his scent was. Then Shane rocketted from a nearby water droplet form and she took off after him. He was laughing again, weaving around and into clouds, diving then shooting upwards again.

He lost her fast, knowing that the clouds would hold the smell of him for a good thirty seconds or so. Hopefully Taco was aware that this was a seeking exercise. Well, for him it was losing a tail. He spun, letting the wind carry him, and rose a couple hundred more feet. While going up, he passed his friend. But he didn't see her, thanks to the clever disguise. Though she seen - more like smelled - him as he went up. She barked, startling him, then flew at him. Shane looked down briefly to see her before jerking left to ride the wind on his belly. She hurtled past where he had turned, giving a surprised yelp.

He laughed, saying, "C'mon Taco, we can go back down now!" Shane cut his connection to the wind, and began a dive-bomb fall, body straight and arms stuck to his sides. Taco followed, folding in her wings. Once Shane was fifty feet above ground, he shifted his position to being spread eagled and called to the winds again. They swept him up and slowly brought him the the ground; at thirty feet, the metamorph snapped out her wings to catch the air and yelped at the pain of the feathery things nearly snapped off. She landed gently next to her master and immidiately folded the wings in and they vanished. She grew a little larger and rolled her shoulders in a very human-like gesture.

Shane looked around for his weapon, quickly spotting it by the Priestess and Angel who weren't doing anything at the moment. He walked over to them, adrenaline giving a bounce to his step, and flashed a friendly grin. aco padded after him and ended up doing the same thing. Her master bent over to pick up the cross-tipped mace, then dropped to the grass upon seeing an earthwom crawling through a small patch of dark soil.

"Hello, there," he murmured with a small smile, and released himself from pushup position. Taco crouch next to him on another side of the dirt patch. She poked it experimentally, earning a cuff over the ear from Shane. "Don't interfere with it's business," he snapped after the worm shrank away from her claw. While they watched the creature inch along, they did not seem to realize the pair they were by looked on with curiousity.

Tsubasa gave small commands for Rei to carryout as she wielded her katana, to reinforce the basics and get a good starting point for her training. She then began acting as though she were surrounded by many opponents that were not friendly. She spun her sword around her to drive the invisible opponents away, giving her space to think about her next attack. Tsubasa said she was surrounded and magically exhausted and he was fighting his way towards her, but she was on her own for the time being. Two opponents charged at her causing her to fight them both at once. She was doing well till another opponent jumped on her back causing her to lose her sword. Tsubasa jumped toward her and freed her of the attacker.

"You sure are lucky to have me priestess. I almost didn't make it," He said quietly with a pained expression in his eyes. He then proceeded to take out the rest of the enemies, as she picked up her sword once again. "Well priestess, your getting better at imagining an attack. I really did feel like you were almost lost." He stood in front of her that look in his eyes not quite gone.

Rei reached up and gave her angel a hug. "You poor thing. You make me want to fight better so i know you don't do anything stupid if something does happen." She smiled. "You don't have to worry though. I will always be able to make it though because your by my side."

Tsubasa's worry seemed to fade. "Your right, priestess. I will never leave you, so we never have to worry about that actually happening. Let's do some stretches to build flexibility. I think that is a good area to work on." He changed the subject quickly and Rei nodded. They proceeded to do stretches.

Rei and Tsubasa stopped their strenuous exercises, taking a breather. Rei turned and saw what looked like Shane tripping to get his weapon, and she giggled. Taco went and fell by her master and they seemed to be looking at something. "Tsubasa, can you see what they're up to?"

"They are watching an earthworm. Taco clawed at it and Shane punished it for 'interfering with it's business' and their just watching it now."

"So we're watching them watch an earthworm? Interesting. I never thought I'd be in a moment like this." Her curiosity and interest grew as she watched.

"There is much to be learned from watching small creatures," Tsubasa didn't use the word 'insect' because there was so much more to the little creature and he couldn't just group it with true insects.

Taco's white ears flicked forward and she glanced up at Rei and Tsubasa. She split her jaws like she was about to say something, then shook her head and looked back to the worm. The worm was slowly making its way back into the soft earth when Shane's silver eyes lit up.

"We should find a ladybu . . ." he began to say, but trailed off as he looked up. He coughed slightly awkwardly and pulled himself to siting cross-legged. His cheeks were tinged light pink as he stared up at the two. "Uhh . . Hi?" Taco slapped a paw over her snout and snickered, pretending to hide it. Her master dhot her a glare then grabbed the shaft of the ground-embedded mace and tugged. Of course, since it was embedded in the ground, it didn't budge. He frowned and pulled harder. Guess falling from a couple hundred feet does that to things. He let go of it and sighed. Eh. He'd get it later.

Taco rolled her sore shoulders, raising herself to a sitting position. She twitched her odd white nose and tilted her head. Rhianora said they should practice, yeah? So what if both pairs sparred a little in preparation? They could even switch off. You know, Rei with Shane and Tsubasa with Taco then Rei with Taco and Shane with Tsubasa. Or something like that.

"We should practice together," she said, a natural, wolfy edge in her voice. "Like, against each other." The purple eyes of her friend locked onto her crystalline ones and she spread her fangs in a sharp grin. Then he looked back to Rei and the Angel and nodded in agreement with his companion.

"Yes, we should. It will be good to fight against someone whose moves you don't know. It'll get us familiar with each others styles as well." Shane stood, stretching his wiry arms up with a small yawn as he did so. "Do ya wanna try it, guys?"

Taco was gonna say something but seemed to change her mind and attention back to the worm. Rei found it hysterical when Shane realized he was being watched. Rei did her best not to laugh, but when he tried to pull out his mace... She almost lost it. Tsubasa pinched her and she saved herself from embarrassing Shane any further.

"We should practice together. Like, against each other," Taco suggested wolfishly.

"Yes, we should. It will be good to fight against someone whose moves you don't know. It'll get us familiar with each others styles as well." Shane stood, stretching his wiry arms up with a small yawn as he did so. "Do ya wanna try it, guys?"

"Oh! Thats a great idea!! We can start now!" Rei said, excitement flooding her being. "How bout we start off with Shane and I and Taco with Tsubasa after about 20 minutes or so we can switch!"

"I agree as well. " Tsuabsa put in.

"Then it is decided. We should begin immediately."

"Then it is decided. We should begin immediately," Rei said with a comfirming nod.

Shane almost objected to the pairing, then cast his gaze to the side. He knew he shouldn't be second-guessing her, as she was a Priestess and looked like she could wield her katana efficiently. But maybe he was second-guessing because he didn't like fighting against others. He was almost afraid he'd hurt them. Funny, since he had just been sparring with Taco. Though Taco didn't count because he knew she could hold herself against him. Whatever. Just push it all away and pretend it's Taco, he thought to himself, standing slowly.

The metamorph, on the other hand, couldn't stop wriggling in excitement. Her tail wagged like crazy and she barked, then danced around the Angel. Thpugh there was a calculating side hiding behind her stupid-happy demeanor. She took him in: his height, tall; his weight, maybe about average for a human male; his personality, very protective. She bounced over to Rei before her and Shane started their twenty-minute battle and brushed her soft head against the Priestess' hand. The girl looked down at her and smiled, taking the gesture as a sign of encouragement. What a deviously cunning being. Taco sprang back to Tsubasa and barked happily.

Rei held her katana in front of her, holding the hilt with both of her hands lightly.

Shane took a deep breath as he quickly sent his worries to his familiar by mind and backed up several feet. Do not go easy on her, Shaney-boy. Make it difficult. We've been in fights before - I don't know if she has. Maybe the Angel has. Anyway, this is preparation; if she can't handle your, she might not be able to handle the enemy even with Tsubasa, Taco shared the advice while avoiding attacks from her opponent. He swallowed, then lifted his fists up. The metamorph had a really good point about the toughness thing. It made him realize this was also no time to get soft. The fate of four Protectors and other dimensions was on the line. They had to touch up their skills very well if they were to leave soon.

His grape soda-like gaze scanned the area around Rei, looking for something to use against her. The mace. It was still by her feet. Of course! Uncurling his fists, he swiftly slapped his flat palms together and wind started swirling in a large sphere around the weapon and the girl. A pale blue glow emanated through the rising dust - in the place the mace resided. The sphere held the dust captive, probably choking the Priestess inside. Then Shane clapped again and the sphere exploded, sending earth and dust everywhere, clouding the air.

Tsubasa halted his flurry of attacks, with Taco lunging at him teeth bared. The sudden duststorm let the Angel race toward Rei, worry coming off him in waves. Taco landed, nothing coming into her mouth but the thick dust. She didn't seem bothered; she even smirked. She changed her form, then called for the Angel weakly. The devil. xD She made herself a copy of Rei. Tsubasa was suddenly there, looking over her quickly.

"Priestess, are you alright?" he asked. She nodded slowly, like she was in pain. Concern clearly was clouding his connection to the girl, which this Rei didn't have. The sound of clashing metal sounded, two sillhouettes beyond them locked together by their weapons. The dust cleared further and it was noticable that the weapons were a katana and a mace. The figures wove in a deadly dance, only ever hitting metal. Tsubasa looked down at the 'Priestess' to find she was gone. "Whe-?" Fangs sunk into his bicep, cutting off his voice. A large fox-being had attached itself to him and was growling. Then it released and pounced away, turning into an orange- and white-haired girl with Wolverine-like claws coming from her knuckles and spinning around to face him. Taco grinned ferally and launched herself at him.

The sphere held the dust captive, probably choking the Priestess inside. Then Shane clapped again and the sphere exploded, sending earth and dust everywhere, clouding the air.

Rei frowned. She had put her face mask on seconds before the the sphere formed. She closed her eyes and waited for the bubble to burst. He totally thought she was weak. Her blood burned with annoyance. She felt his presence moving towards her and the dust began to settle. Then he was there in front of her and she attacked.

Tsubasa halted his flurry of attacks. The sudden duststorm let the Angel race toward Rei, as he let false worry come off him in waves. He found her. Or so he faked. Tsubasa could feel Rei in her meditative-battle-ready stance. If Taco wanted to play this game, he would.

"Priestess, are you alright?" he asked. Taco nodded slowly, like she was in pain. Tsubasa faked the concern once again. The sound of clashing metal two sillhouettes beyond them locked together by their weapons. The dust cleared further and it was noticable that the weapons were a katana and a mace. The figures wove in a deadly dance, only ever hitting metal. He looked at them for just a second and Taco disappeared and he couldn't feel her Aura.

"Whe-" Fangs sunk into his bicep and he saw his formidable foe A large fox-being had attached itself to him and was growling. Then it released and pounced away, turning into an orange- and white-haired girl with Wolverine-like claws coming from her knuckles and spinning around to face him.

It hurt, but just barely. He wasn't chosen to help Rei with her training for nothing. The mark vanished almost instantly and the clothes seemed to magically tie back together.

Taco grinned ferally and launched herself at him. She hadn't noticed the clothing till after she launched. Tsubasa had out his sword and caught her claws on it. He forced her back and she attacked again. They fought so intricately, it became almost hard to tell who was who.

Rei and Shane danced the dance of sword and mace until Rei jumped back and waved her hand over her sword. As she did, it became a luminescent pink color with cherry blossom petals coming off and floating in the air. "I would watch out for those. If they hit you, you will become momentarily paralyzed, leaving me an opening. They are, in a sense, ghost petals." Rei explained, smiling fearcely (:( not happy bout this msp) as they danced in the air.

All of the petals were so close to him when her alarm went off. "TIME-OUT!!!" She yelled as she raised her arm and her flowy sleeve fell revealing the watch. All of them stopped and were breathing hard. Shane fell on his butt as a quick way to sit.

"Please don't let me feel like you are considering me weak. I am not a warrior priestess for nothing," she said falling down next to him.

Tsubasa and Taco began walking over to Rei and Shane. "I really got you, didn't I?" Taco said excitedly.
"No my furry friend. It is I who got you. I knew you weren't Rei. Did you really think you could trick me with that? It would have been the same if it was I who pulled that instead of you. You would have known I wasn't Shane."
"Yah, I guess so." Taco said.
"If I were an enemy, I would have used that against you. But i wanted to see what you would do and I went along. That was quite the sneak attack. I almost didn't feel you." Taco smiled a long-unnatural smile on her human form's face.

Tsubasa liked the little fox, he thought as he smiled back at her.

Oh crap. That was something he didn't see coming. Ghost petals. Something he'd never heard of, either. He couldn't feel them on the breeze - they were moving of their own accord. He attempted protecting himself by holding his mace over his head and making a small barrier. It failed though, a few petals moving through the airy(literally) protection like it was not there. Beep beep beep beep. Shane's purple eyes blinked at Rei as the alarm went off. She had a watch? “TIME-OUT!!!” she called out after a quick look at the watch. Shane sighed in relief, mid-pant and fell to his butt.

“Please don't let me feel like you are considering me weak,” Rei started as she plopped down next to the guy, “I am not a Warrior Priestess for nothing.” Shane face was instantly red and he was looking away.

“Yeah . . . Maybe I should overestimate people other than underestimate them,” he murmured softly, rubbing the back of his neck. At Rei odd look, cleared his throat. “Ah. I mean, uh, no. Of course not. Erm, that would be stupid. After all, as you said yourself, you’re a Warrior Priestess; why would I have any reason to do something as stupid as that?” He turned his head away to stare at a piece of rubble next to his hand. x.x” Why didn’t I think? I just assumed she was weak because she had little actual fighting experience . . . (Total “Oh crap, I’m an idiot” moment xD)

Taco glanced at her master’s feeling-like-an-idiot-ness and collapsed with laughter. He shot her quick daggers in his gaze, before finally looking back to the girl by his side. Shane’s familiar was back to her original form, on her back and kicking white and rainbow legs in the air. The PokeBall on her collar jingled joyfully, and in quite a funny manner, with her barky laugh. The Angel chuckled, though he really didn’t get what was really so funny. Then the fox metamorph, twisted around to her belly and was automatically in a predator’s crouch. Swishing her tail while Tsubasa just watched, Taco used the tension in her legs to throw herself at Shane. Only once she did this, did realize that upon landing on the human, it would cause him to fall sideways onto Rei. o-o She should’ve chosen a better position. Too late now . . .

Of course he sensed her projecting toward him. He felt the abrupt disturbance in the current breeze, which was blowing to Rei’s and his backs. He lifted his hand and held it limply, then flicked his wrist. His partner stopped in mid-air, frozen and suspended. He turned his head from looking at girl to staring at fox and smirked. Okay, she wasn’t actually frozen but for a couple seconds where it slowly dawned on her that she wasn’t getting closer to her target. Then she started wriggling and making a fuss.

“Hey! Why’d you go and do that, huh?! I was just wanting to play~!” she protested. Shane sighed in exasperation and smiled lightly, running his opposite hand through his pale hair. “C’mon! This isn’t fair!” Her struggling persisted until he let the hand her was holding up fall to the ground. So then Taco fell. Even with her short lengthed/high distanced jump being so, well, high, the tiger-sized fox landed easily on her paws.

“I think it is partner-switching time, yes?” Shane asked, standing, then walking over to the Angel. On his way, he ruffled the white fur bang-like fur on her head.

Taco fell on her back laughing insanely, at Shane from what Rei guessed. He looked at Taco then slowly back to Rei as she let a little giggle out. Tsubasa chuckled at the happiness of Taco. He watched as she turned getting ready to pounce at Shane. He noticed she was in the wrong position, but didn't say anything to see what Shane would do. Shane looked like he had felt Taco coming and he lifted his hand, holding it limply, then flicked his wrist. Taco stopped in the air, seeming almost frozen. He smirked at her, and she realized she wasn't getting any closer.

“Hey! Why’d you go and do that, huh?! I was just wanting to play~!” she protested. Shane sighed and smiled lightly, running his opposite hand through his hair. “C’mon! This isn’t fair!” He held her there for a little longer, then dropped her, but still she landed on her feet gracefully.

Rei watched in fascination and suddenly had a wild urge to either pounce on someone or get a cat. Since a cat would take a while to get, she really wanted to pounce on someone. Deep in her thoughts, she almost didn't hear Shane.

“I think it is partner-switching time, yes?” Shane asked, as he stood, then walked over to Tsubasa, and ruffled Taco's fur on her way.

She felt a little relived and embarrassed to be thinking like that and grateful for the distraction. "Yes, time to switch!"

"I hope you plan on giving me a little work-out, Shane. Taco was quite fun to play with, and I hope I have just as much fun with you," Tsubasa said lightly, giving a smile to Shane.

"I plan on it." Shane replied standing in attack mode. Tsubasa drew his sword and pointed it at Shane. "Come."

"Are you prepared taco?" Rei asked. She was a bit nervous as she had been when she fought Shane, but she realized it was anticipation, she thought as she pushed up her sleeves and tied them behind her back. She would normally do this, but didn't have time to do so in her battle with Shane. Taco made her way over to Rei. "I'm always prepared," she said as she got ready to pounce.

Rei concentrated her powers to her right arm, turning the earlier "ghost petals" into an arm shield. It was a clear light pink color, the color of cherry blossoms. Taco was in the air and upon her, but Rei forced her away with the shield. Taco was not only forced away, but was given a small electric shock. Her expression was shocked, but quickly regained composure. "Your gonna regret that priestess."

"I just want you to know I'm going to be serious with you," Rei smiled with a little mischief.

Shane and Tsubasa were locked in a beautiful dance of silver. The sparks of the sword and mace flew as they collided. Shane seemed to have the upper hand on Tsubasa, until he launched himself into the air. Shane used his control of the wind to follow quickly behind Tsubasa. Tsubasa let out a marvelous laugh. He was quite enjoying himself. The young man was doing quite well in keeping up with him, but it would be another 70 years before he could even think of defeating Tsubasa. Tsubasa spun upwards powerfully, then quickly fell back towards Shane, sword at the ready, he charged.

~Psychic Message Through Taiga's Amulet: Taiga, you must warn my group of the dangers that lie ahead on the way to the Fortress East area. Tell Shane, and Rei that the forest floor is unstable and that they should use an above ground method of travel and avoid stepping on the ground it's self. There are channels of lava running underneath the forest floor. Also they are to avoid at all cost, to get near a dark portal located near the enterance to the Fortress. I would assume that the same conditions apply to the West side forest as well, so proceed with extreme caution, when your group is ready to come as well. I will let you know if there are any further hazards as they present themselves.~

It looked like Rei wasn't ready; but it only looked. That didn't mean she wasn't. That sheild that had given Taco a shock a little bit ago was back in her face, and her black nose smushing against the sakura-pink, opaque thingy. White hot, lightning strikes of pain skittered through her nerves and she bounced of the shield-majiggy and slammed onto the ground.

"Ugh . . ." grunted the ginger-white being. She clambered to her paws, lips pulled up to bare her teeth in an irritated manner. "You'll regret that, too, girly." Her threat was viscous snarl, and it seemed she was getting serious.

Shane's grape soda fizz-colored optics narrowed as Tsubasa spun up, then came rushing down at him. He tightened his fingers around the mace's hilt, and pulled the weapon up for a block. Yet the Angel feinted the direct attack, and swerved around the guy and thumbped the pommel of his sword into Shane's back. His pupils widened. What the . . ? A pressure point must've been hit, because his vision went black for a split-second, and when his sight cleared he was lying on his back with the foxy face of Taco staring down at him.

"Shane? My God, what the heck did you did Tsubasa?!" she snapped looking to the winged creature. He was staring down also, Rei was above him as well, anxious for his well-being (she was a healer, after all). "Answer me!" Clearly he was keeping quite. Maybe just until Shane had woken up?

"All I did was hit a nerve . . ." he finally mumbled. Then the Familiar flipped Shane over roughly and pressed him into the ground. The pale-haired male knew what she was looking for. And he knew it was exactly what she thought when she lifted up the back of his shirt and growl softly.

"The one day you don't wear it . . ." she muttered and Shane felt her wet tongue slide over his skin.

"What is it?" Rei questioned.

"Shane's literal Achilles heel. The mark he got in order to control the wind." Shane winced at this, not liking to recall his selfishness back then. Taco stared at the mark on his smooth skin, and noticed that the air symbol looked a little bruised. Her master sat up slowly at looed apolegeticly toward Rei's partner.

"Heh . . . Sorry I didn't warn you 'bout that . . ." he started, rubbing the back of his head. "I never figured anyone would be able to hit such a small spot. And I never figured, since I don't consider this "serious" combat, that it wouldn't become active. In any case, that's a story for another time so let's get back to practice, yeah?"
