Every single anime in existence is overrated according to someone. Opinions don't mean anything as long as you enjoy a show.

You started out with a really good point, but then you lost it half way through. It's a problem that people just say a show sucks without giving it any thought. The big fans won't even admit that there are things that could be better in their anime, and the haters won't admit that there anything good about the anime. When this happens NOBODY is a critic, since no critiquing is being done.

Half way through you say you hate people's apathy for the arts, however if they were truly apathetic, they wouldn't be bothering to look for a flaw in it. If you were apathetic you wouldn't care if it was a 5-year-old's doodling or a masterpiece of art.

I believe your last paragraph just sums up to "I formulate my own opinion." People jumping on a bandwagon is a problem, but I don't think telling people they should think for themselves is going to change anything, because everybody is already aware of this.

I guess I didn't think much of what I said as I acted based on feelings. But if people were really aware, then wouldn't it be wiser for them to stay out of the haters' group till they could actually give their 'own' thoughts on a certain anime?
