My ability to not give a shit was the only thing worthy of an A+ in highschool. So pretty much every day was zombie through it and people left me alone except during lunch time when sitting with my highschool buddies. I've witnessed some fights but nothing as day-to-day as bullying.

Society teaches you that revenge is not self defense, heck even the law teaches that to you. If you were to fight back, your teacher automatically makes you the criminal and they will constantly tell you to ignore them, as if it was wrong to stand up to yourself.

They expect you to kindly tell your bully to back off. What a bunch of crap

As a youth, I didn't know how to deal with a bully. I had three of my classmates bully the heck out of me. I wanted to fight back, but I didn't have the ability to do so, nor did I believe that going to the Principal would help me (And it really didn't.) So I put up with it

I usually fight back but when I don't, that only means I let karma get them instead. I don't have to waste my time with unimportant people.

When I was younger I suffered from bullying for a few of my early high school years. One day I decided enough was enough and flipped my lid so to speak. It changed me a lot, but also helped me. I got into a lot of fights in the end, but I always stood up for myself after that and people stopped picking on me

In high school I put up with bullies because I didn't want to cause trouble and wished to keep the peace. Sometimes I would say something, which usually resulted in being left alone. Thankfully changing schools and that everyone eventually grew somewhat out of cliques helped. That doesn't mean I became best buddies with anyone I'd previously had issues with though.

I was once bullied when I was around 13, for apparently no particular reason. Soon after the bullying started, exactly when they began getting a little physical and public, I just told every teacher, parent and school employee I knew of. I even told lies about how the bullies when too far and had beaten me in private, knowing that after my school mates had seen the public bullying everyone would believe me. They got a severe punishment, but the worst was yet to come. After they came back from a 3-day expelling, I beat the crap out of one of them (they were two) and then told everyone I was just defending myself from the bullies who hadn't learned their lesson. They got expelled for 5 days, were put into strict observation and I know at least one of them was severely scolded back at home.

I have lived a very happy life since then

I dislike how this thread title implies that everybody allows themselves to be bullied. No matter the case, I don't let people push me around and I never will, even if it ends up costing me my life. People may say I'm overboard arrogant, but I'm not so weak that people will ever say or do whatever they please to me without getting what's coming to them.

I have never really been bullied. In school I wasn't one of the popular guys but I did have a rather large group of friends and no one really ever tried to mess with us or give me trouble. I am a rather laid back person who lets things roll off their shoulders and I don't usually get worked up about things. My parents think that I am an emotionless robot because I really never let things get under my skin. Anyways, you cant really bully someone if they pay no attention to it.

Why let them? More like "how the hell can the weak stop them?" It's never the strong and popular that are bullied, it's the weak and isolated ones. It's not civilized behavior, but it is natural human behavior. It hearkens back to our tribal, animalistic roots. Comes from the natural mental processes which evolved to aid us in the task of sorting out prey. As social animals the ability was refined even further as its was also put to the task of determining in-group weakness, so we'll know when best to challenge the alpha male for leadership.

Yup, during first 3 years of my school life. By then I transfer to other school, I become bully itself cause I figure nobody bullies on bully. And it's worked, evenly I got bullies team. then in middle school, I stopped. Because they create anti-bully law and fine anybody whose do bullying.
But I am glad they create that law.
