i have had experience with some would-be bullies. but they're just some weak wanna-be's. i dont really use violence to defend myself, unless when needed or wanted lol (im not really girly and i do punch hard when pissed). i just bully them right back using sarcasm and say things that are degrading. then at the end, they couldnt say anything straight to my face anymore. when we pass by each other (3 effing tall guys), they couldnt look at me anymore. they deserve it for making some people i know feel like trash, calling them slaves and making others cry. they deserve to feel like shit.

Whenever i saw someone getting bullied I always helped them, but I never understood why the people who were being bullied didnt do anything about it and just took it. If I was ever bullied I'd kick their ass

Well usually the bullies that bullied me had knives so if you tried to fight back you risk getting knifed. That and they were seniors and I was a freshmen in Highschool

I remember one time some guys ambushed me in the locker room and I ended up with so many bruises because they used a gym lock in a sock method. Thankfully the main guy in the group was arrested because he pushed a teacher down some stairs which she lived but he got sent to jail

I've always had people causing shit with me for no real reason - might be because I'm overly hyper or whatever, or I was skinny (once). I remember in Year 6 when I was 11 [England] this guy used to try to tease and bully me but he only served to piss me off, along with his laughter. So one day when he was sitting on the grey cemented playground while I was standing up; he started to berate me. I swear to god I've never seen someone cry as much as he did when I stamped on his balls. It would've been really funny if he didn't carry on for TWO HOURS!" He continued with his bullshit as did his mate but I always threatened to fight them if they continued on (however, I don't think my skinny 11 year old self was intimidating.) I've seen pictures of him on facebook recently, the guy has a weird gotee at 18 and hangs around with this very weird girl, also he still looks like a knob ha!

Still, last year I had two fights. Once in posh ol' Windsor when I was getting some money out of my account. Had this random older guy (blatantly drugged up) at 1pm knock of my snapback while I was on my lunch break. Mostly won too, hit him square in the jaw till I threw him to the ground and he pulled me with him. I landed on the back of my head and was knocked out for a few seconds...

Andddd my second fight (wasn't much of a fight) was in a club. This guy started swearing at me, I was like 'forget it.' Till he came over to the left side of my face, spat at me and said something racist. Beat him up quite bad ha :L Suffice to say I was wearing long arse military boots, an expensive tweed blazer and skinny jeans when I did this so not only did the trampy looking guy get beaten up by the guy who looked like a posh twat - found out afterwards I had gotten off with his girlfriend. Also, he got arrested while the bouncer got me a taxi: funny night... Learnt from my first fight earlier in that year I needed to go to the gym. Paid of spectacularly.

So, basically, workout and you'll be able to not take shit from anyone. And your attitude... it needs to be not aggressive, but not too submissive. Also, you have to get used to fight or flight adrenaline rushes and knowing which is best for the situation. Be careful as mistimed adrenaline rushes are the causes of most stress related anxiety.

PS. I've had a strange life, so don't judge me on beating people up haha :L

When I was bullied, I was scared, yes, but the main reason I didn't retaliate against the bullies much was because they'd most likely tell someone (i.e. the administration), and I'd be the one in trouble, even though the principal/dead/etc. didn't do anything when I told them about how I was being harassed.

That exact thing basically happened when I slapped a very nasty bully who'd been slamming me against the locker walls for months and giggling about me with her upperclassmen friends, because I tried to stand up to her friend (who was also a bully), even though she'd been the one victimizing me and the slap was just a one time thing. The only reason why the administration cared about the slapping is because the girl was more popular, had a reputation as a 'nicer' person than me, and was involved in the school's athletics program. Pathetic.

Ignorance never worked either when the bullies made my life hell, in fact, it just encouraged them to be meaner. Standing up to them did not make them lay off of me and step down. They just continued to tease me and push me against walls like I was nothing. They practically drove me to cutting and a suicide attempt. I literally wanted to die because a bunch of pond scum were calling me ugly and fat, when in hindsight, they weren't the best looking or thinnest themselves. I still have issues with depression, though since I'm no longer being tortured by these people, my outlook on life is more positive.

TL;DR: Retaliating against bullies may get you in trouble. Lots of tactics don't work.

I totally agree, that is what happened to me when I stood up to one bully and his dad was friends with the principle. Now that I am older I have more anger against corruption and if that stuff happens to my kid (when I have kids) I will raise all kinds of hell at the school.

Bullying should never happen because it hurts other people especially now because of social media and it can be set way out of control when 1000's of people bully someone over the internet.

violence can sometimes be the answer. I've never been bullied, been close with everybody because I'm never 2 faced or up to anything sinister or evil against someone who doesn't deserve it, if they do then.... well, why not? It's karma's way.

This thread is adorable. People trying to justify their obviously hurt lives . Mask it with feigned power over the situation. Accept your situation and you'll get over it and think rationally about it quicker.

What kind of bullshit is that? Don't tell people that they don't have power. We all have power over our situations.

I didn't used to fight back when people bullied or beat up on me out of respect and understanding of their situations or situations they had been through to cause it. I have more recently however after my buttons got pushed for a long time by a bunch of people.
