Do you have advices to stop some one from becoming/are already a shopaholic?

Ha why would you want to??? Clearly I'm not one to give advice on this since I'm a proud shopaholic but if you havent already started then try to avoid Internet shopping, it's even more addictive.

If this a serious question and you or someone you know is actually suffering from this affliction, then looking for answers on CR is probably not going to help very much. A shopping addiction is a serious condition (or can be depending upon the severity) which in many cases requires professional help. I would suggest seeking professional help from either a licensed counselor/therapist or possibly joining a self help group.

Just buying a lot of anime/manga stuff is not really a severe case unless you are running up credit card debt to do so. Also, if you divert money from things like paying rent or making a car payment then that's a sign you may need help as well. On the other hand, if you just spend what you have on stuff you like or want, but are still able to otherwise function normally in life then that's less severe. So, I guess it depends on which type of person you are.

Oh, I was going to also say that if it is just a case of needlessly spending money, but you aren't actually "out of control," you can do what I do. Instead of using credit cards for anything other than emergencies, try paying only cash or using a debit card for everyday purchases. That was you can keep track of your spending better. If you use online banking, debit card purchases show up right away and you can actually see where your money goes.

Also, keep a spending journal. Write down all your purchases and review them on a daily or weekly basis. Hope this helps.

Learn to budget, then go nuts on the money that you can treat yourself with I guess.

Jot down events that require money on your calender and make sure not to spend too much so that you'll have enough for that certain occasion, otherwise... go nuts! Life is too short for that shit.

My advice? Let the shopaholic remain a shopaholic. They aren't spending my money, and they can feel free to waste their money. People whine about it in public, and heavy smokers/alcoholics aren't exempted. Generally, if you don't have moderation you didn't deserve that money in the first place.

I'm materialistic, and I value money because between me and the rest of the world, it's all I have.

I used to be one until our family was almost going bankrupt. Then after a while I stopped feeling the urge to pick up everything I see and buy it unless I'm at an anime convention. xD
