cancel all credit cards
put all your bank accounts in a 'time deposit'
burn all your cheques
<'coz these are all the causes>

if you really can't, then you are left with one option...
be a nun <if your a female>
be a priest <if your a male>
...you have two choices if your gay. :))

Make that person work for and buy everything. Toilet paper seems cheap until you're broke and have to choose between that and ramen noodles.

Remember that money is a medium for exchange and nothing more. Money is earned with effort and time. Taxes average around 26-28% plus sales tax and property tax and everything else. A trip to Mcdonalds might cost $10.00, but with a $15 per-hour job, after taxes take $5 away, that is an HOUR of work to get a big mac. Those new shoes are on sale, but they don't cost money, they cost a day's labor. That PS3 is $300, but to someone making $15 per hour ($10 per hour after taxes) that PS3 is a WEEK of work to get (work week average at 40 hours or $400. After you buy a game and a second controller you don't have money for rent that week) When you start thinking of buying things as time rather than dollars, you'll reduce impulse buying a lot.
