I love anything that is kind of sad at the end (Angel Beats,Code Geass, Clannad ) just because those anime (and ones like them) make me cry and show how do I really feel, and what kind of person I am. After every anime I was able to be more truthful to myself.
Also I love good love stories, and that is something that many people put into the girl zone. Well I don't agree.
In this world where everyone is wearing a mask being honest is good. Ok I am starting to write stupid things, so what I meant to say is, watch whatever you like, and as long as it satisfies you it is ok. Even Yaoi if you like it, although I don't (And I don't have anything against gay people, I just don't like watching it in Anime, screws with my childhood)

So you watch and enjoy something you're outside the target audience for? That's actually quite common. A sign of a good show is being able to reach beyond its target demographic. I know I've enjoyed a pretty eclectic mix of anime over the years.

I honestly do not think any anime was made to target a specific gender. What a lot of it comes down to is two common factors: 1. whether or not the author is a female 2. whether or not the lead character is a female or not (with exceptions such as FMA or Hikaru no Go). I believe that these reasons are often to blame for determining gender preference.

nothing wrong with it at all 60-75% of all anime i watch is romance, girly, cute etc. (heck some people ive known would probably call wagnaria girly). tbh tho i think i watch stuff that i can identify with in some way a bit more (not a lot to identify with for a 6ft+ shy male in american entertainment ).
never stop watching what you like.

i watch most of the anime spectrum I have access to but still don't like horror and yaoi just because an anime is aimed for girls/women doesn't make illegal for boys/men to watch it but like they state in many anime an male bodybuilder crossdressing as CC Sakura are not what I call either manly or girly...

Sailor moon was technically Shoujo, IIRC, but acquired a rather large male audience here in the United States.
Sakamichi No Apollon is apparently classified Josei (according to Wikipedia's editors, anyway), but you can bet I'm jumping on that train as soon as it gets here... for Shinchiro Watanabe's direction alone, and Kanno Yokko's music.
