Fighters: If you could chose differently....
Posted 5/28/11
What martial art style would you do instead if you could wind back the clock and learn all over again?

Current styles:

Kyokushin Kai
Sihap Gyeorugi Taekwondo

I'm still young, but having been learning those since I was a toddler I would love to have been thrown into Krav Maga or Muay Thai instead, I may do them in future as I feel I've reached my limit with my current styles. There isn't much more I need to learn and I just compete and polish what I know already now. So y'know variety is the spice of life and I'd like to take up Krav Maga next and do that for the next MA obsessed years of my life.

Please no fighting (lol pun) over which styles are best just answer the question for yourself.

*Scratches head* Well I don't know why I haven't learnt a fighting style but i've always wanted. In some cases I tried to create my own... LOL!
But if I could learn a fighting style then it would have to be Wing Chun.

Oh yeah, wing chung is a spectacle!
I would probably have put more effort into my aikido classes.... the thought of being defeated by steven segal in less than 4 chained moves is sickening....... and would likely have started this adventure of becoming a world heavyweight champion a lot sooner also

I'll have to pick Military Close Quarters Combat teaches you how to engage in hand to hand in tight situations when you're up against someone with a gun.

Jeet Kune Do.

If I found a teacher and really wanted to learn, that would be my chosen style.

As a kid, I did take some karate. The way is too stiff, so I loosened up what I learned into a simpler method.

I'd throw my childish pacifism to the curve and pick up freeform brawling. I never learned any martial arts or styles. Since they requrie technique, precision, etcetera-- I don't think they'd be for me. I'm about being inventive, improvising, and fighting as dirty as possible. Those three things sound very appealing to me.

Muay Thai or Jeet Kune Do. I'd love to learn either or both. :)

Fighting styles, pfff. It's fighting. I learnt taekwondo and will use whatever I got in my pocket (skills). I'm not complaining.

I wouldn't. My self-designed martial art, better known as 'windmill punch rapidly towards target', featuring such techniques as 'cry and beg for mercy' works well enough for me.
