Gainax always have a bad habit of abusing the Boobs of Steel trope. Well, I guess Gainax didn't earned the gainaxing trope for nothing.

Gainax + Medoka box = Epic Gainaxing Time.
I'd like to see how they could troll an ongoing Shonen Jump anime.
Then again, they didn't do anything that bad with Hanamaru Kindergarden...

Yes, as said above, you are all underestimating Gainax. Sure, it has had a lot of troll moments, but there ARE moments when it has pulled through. Sure, most of them are in the creation of original anime (TTGL, Evangelion), but as an example, look at Hanamaru. I think it was actually pretty well made. Also, I can't picture another studio better suited to making something like this. If Gainax does it well, it will be better than if any other studio does it.

I am really curious as to how they will voice Kumagawa. The impression I got from reading the series is that his way of speaking is pretty unique.

The problem is, from the trend that GAINAX has set, Medaka Box's adaption won't exactly be totally faithful to the manga. It is more than likely they will downplay the 'school life' elements as much as possible, and focus on the action elements. Furthermore, they may take certain liberties with the artwork which may not be met warmly.

I would prefer if Madhouse of J.C Staff did Medaka Box instead of GAINAX.
Madhouse generally produces high-budget animes, and know's there stuff around shonen adaptions. Not only do they faithfully adapt manga, they also have strong production values when it comes to animation. They don't skip on the ecchi either. Take Needless as an example.
J.C Staff is well suited for the role as well, though the series may be too shonen for them. J.C Staff has high production values as well, especially in terms of animation. Furthermore, they have experience in both school life and super power anime, and can surely strike a balance between the two. And as shown by Zero no Tsukaima along with a lot of other series, they place a strong focus on ecchi as well.
Personally, I would be interested to see how Bones or Shaft would animate it, but they're probably not as suited for the role.

First off, Bones and SHAFT are definitely not good. Both specialise in dark anime, and Shaft has no budget, which means bad animation quality or cut scenes, both of which would be bad for Medaka.

Secondly, Madhouse is also suited to darker animes e.g. Deathnote. Also, in cases like Needless, they could only concentrate on one aspect at a time, and, in my opinion, it was a pretty bad anime until they cut most of the ecchi scenes and started concentrating on plot building and action.

J.C. Staff might be better, if they got a good director onto it. Yumekui Merry was pretty bad into characterisation and plot building, and frankly, the characters just pissed me off. Something like Railgun was good, but it's a pretty different genre and action style. Shakugan was a good balance, but again, a different genre and action style.

HOWEVER, I do understand what you are getting at about Gainax. I realise now that ONE of the reasons for this is... Medaka = Big Breasts = GAINAX.

But Gainax can do a good slice of life kind of thing. I guess it really depends on the director though.

Actually, as shown by Madoka and Denpa to Onna, Shaft finally seems to have an acceptable budget.
And Madhouse isn't just suited to darker anime; don't just go by their most popular work. They've also produced BECK, Maple Story (A terrible shonen anime for kids), Kamen no Maid Guy and One Outs. In short, they're very flexible, and many of their works are shonen.
I doubt that GAINAX picked up Medaka just because of the GAINAXing effect. I'm sure they''ve got something in mind that we should look forward to.
On another note, fix up your quotes.

Shaft may have been starting to get a bigger budget, starting from Bakemono, but if it's style changed, then the whole point of Shaft would be gone, hence the phrase "Because it's SHAFT". Shaft became good and well known BECAUSE of that unacceptable budget which forced them to create a style that is, now, either hated or loved. However, it is still better for darker anime. Unless it has a change of director.

Kamen no Maid guy was terrible for everything other then comedy.
Maple story was also terrible.
Haven't watched BECK and one outs though.

Don't assume that just because it has experience in a genre that it'll become good in the future.
