I believed almost EVERY fairy tail I've heard of (especially Santa Clause, Ester Bunny, Rupenzel, etc etc.) I got over it at a very early age though.
My dad bitchslapped me with reality.

The Rothschild legacy of building the Illuminati. They didn't get into the business as wealthy bankers by selling lies to society before the truth of events came to light and crushed economies for nothing. They bought in to wealth by investing in large scale information and exploiting the slow travel of it in the days when horseback was the mode of transportation.

Give wrong information about who wins a war, and get the information back to society first, and you can control economic history. People will change their investing habits leisurely believing Napoleon actually won against Wellington, and when they find out he lost and the massive economic investments gone to supporting a wars attrition... everything goes to hell and banks collapse and get bought up.

Well, at least the part about the Rothschild family gaining a complete economic monopoly on France by purchasing all of the banks directly after they lost the war. This is completely proven by records. There are plenty of written accounts of much of the wealthy elite of that time being officially informed of Napoleons victory as well.
