Kizumonogatari is the prequel to the very good series bakemonogatari. It will focus on the relationship between Araragi and Shinobu and how Araragi became a vampire. Fans of Bakemonogatari will be disappointed that most of the female cast from Bakemono will not be making an appearance as Kizumono takes place before Araragi meets them. Even without these characters it still promises to be very entertaining as there should be more fighting and mystery. I am looking forward to Kizumono greatly as I am a huge fan of the series. Do you think it will be better or worse than Bakemono, are you looking forward to it, planning on watching or will you pass on it?

Without Senjougahara, I can't see this film being better than Bakemonogatari. Still, it seems promising enough, and should have better animation and budget compared to Bakemonogatari.

Loved Bakemonogatari. Senjougahara was a big factor in liking it too, as were all the other characters. But, based off that preview this could be just as good. Let's hope it's gets a simulcast here in the US.

IIRC, Kizumonogatari is being made as a film, so it will almost definitely not get a simulcast.

Indeed, I see that now. Haha. Yes, a simulcast is impossible. Nonetheless, it looks to be very good.

Kizumonogatari features a lot of Meme and Tsubasa, and her character gets polished a lot more, still not likely to overtake tsundere-chan but should lift her out of the bottom tier to Nadeko's popularity level.

I've read the novels so I roughly know what's going on, but without spoiling anything, there's like a 10 second flashback in the first episode of Bakemonogatari, play it through slowly, it basically sums up the plot of Kizu lol. But yeah definitely planning to watch, in fact its on my most anticipated list along with rebuild 3.0 and 4.0.

Promised to be released sometime this year IIRC.

Kizumonogatari is getting an adaptation?
Damn...i wanted Zaregoto to get one.

They did Katanagatari with monthly releases.
At least they could do a monthly Zaregoto. I mean it's only 9 volumes long!

Quoted for attention

Kizumonogatari is now being released 2012. Also, because of the popularity of Bakemono, it is most likely going to get a second season. The Light Novels (from where it originated) goes a lot further then the anime, enough to make a second season. Hopefully, ShAFT (and the same director) will still take it, cos I can't imagine how any other company wll make it any better, or as good.

@Crush Dance - For your information, Katanagatari was NOT made by the same studio. Bakemonogatari and the upcoming Kizumonogatari is made by anime studio SHAFT (Sayonara Setsubou Sensei, Arakawa Under the Bridge, Madoka, Hidamari Sketch). Katanagatari is made by the newly founded (and promising) anime studio White Fox (Stein's;Gate). The connection is that they are both written by the same light novel writer, Nisio Isin. If you want more information on the companies, look it up. They ARE on Wikipedia.
