Everyone has their own specific tastes, its not necessarily anime's fault. It's too big of a generalization to say that the majority of girls today like effeminate guys or are gender confused, or to say that its feminism or anime's fault. And it's not like the pre-teen girls are real life pre-teen girls. In a lot of drawings you can't tell the age clearly, many characters are made out to be older or younger than they are. I think people's preferences can also depend a lot on the character's characterization too, not just his or her appearance. Anime are fiction and fantasy, and tastes in fantasy can be different from tastes in reality. I find characters with cigarettes insanely attractive in anime, but in real life not so much. I'm sure others face similar conflicts in taste between anime and the real world. Its all subjective, and no one should need an excuse for their personal tastes
