Buy things you need...not things you want. Unless you really really really want it, or you've been saving up to get it. Oh, and eat at home as much as possible. Fast food/food on the street can be expensive

Workaholics seem to barely spend money since they're either working, eating, or sleeping. And they make a lot of money since they're working so much.

If your prone to going out to lunch/dinner every day, try this.

Kool-Aid in a 1ltr Mtn Dew bottle + a Bagel a day.

it averages out to be about $1 or less a day.

put the money in the bank first... and think thoroughly before buying anything.... especially dun buy things whereby you are going to throw after using it only once...

1) After receiving it, put it somewhere 'safe'. (This means somewhere out of sight so I won't be tempted to spend it. Even better, I'll forget it and won't even know there was anything to be tempted by. The money shows up when I clean my room; I once found 9,000 yen in the pages of a book. Apparently I'd used it as a bookmark, put the book in a hard-to-reach shelf, and forgot about it all.)

2) Don't walk around with it. You know the 'money burning a hole in your pocket' saying? That's me. If I have to have it somewhere close by, it stays in a tin in my room. It's safe there, because I'm too lazy just to get the money, then go back out shopping.

3) Put it in the bank. This is great. Banks are where you keep your money safe, right? Well, I made an account in a bank where I can only withdraw money from one place - 30 seconds away from my apartment, and nowhere else. (They don't have any branch banks.) Needless to say, that makes it very difficult to just 'spend money' I've put in the bank. It stays there.

Don't buy everything with your credit or bank card. Don't buy useless crap you know will have no use ever! Use only as much as you need to. Cook food and take it with you instead of eating out.

Always think twice before you take that bill out of your wallet. Do you really need it? Just think.
