the real question is how will we prepare? or how will we respond to this if it happens? we have 18 months to figure it out

edit: 800 million years ago the poles were different and every 25,800 years this alignment with the black hole in the middle of the milky way happens so about 31 thousand times this has happened since the last pole shift i think odds are on our side

If something like this happens globally and we have no way out at all, be ready for some serious crime sprees. And there is nothing to do but wait. We might not even get a warning. It might just suddenly explode. But we have more threats. Tsunami's, hurricane's, meteorites, other volcanoes, earthquakes... But I'm sure it won't end the world.

Everyone is just suddenly making theories about the world ending. And my dad told me a funny story. Somewhere in the ' 60s people were convinced the world would end too. A lot of people comitted suicide, were forcing women to have sexy time. (yes I know, but this is the nicest way to put it.) and stole everything that wasn't already stolen. People went nuts. And why? Because other people came with funny theories about the world ending.

This time it's based on the maya calender or whatever its called, and I am sure I heard they already found the next part of the calender somewhere else in the ruins. So that theory doesn't work.

Then there's the religious side. Jezus returning. Well first of all I don't believe in a dead guy coming back to save all the people who have been good. And secondly, if this would be true, the bible states no one knows when the world would end. So that's no proof either.

Come on I'm on fire, throw some other funny theory at me! (And sure the supevolcano might very well happen, but I doubt the world would end from it like they state.)

I think I got a little distracted with world ending theory's, but thats basically what this all comes down to doesnt it? Oh god I already wrote too much to delete it now, I'll just post it and see how far I wondered off the topic...

Maybe I can write a bit totally on the subject then... Err I'm glad i live in good old no-mountain Holland!

I'm sorry but I'm sick and tired of the end of the world theory. If our species goes extinct in a year I'll be dead so I really can't care. WHat irritates me is that we're basing this theory off of a society and culture that died out over 200 years ago because we found a circular calender ending in 2012. (Or at least what we've interpreted as 2012.) F0or all we know perhaps it's their calendars restarting point. You know how we start with January, move to December and then after the 31st it's January again? That's probably all it is on the Mayan calendar.

Here's a theory. Someone decided to say the world was going to end in 2012 because of the mayan calendar and then sat back to laugh as the whole world fell for it.
