What do you think of needles?
Posted 6/16/11
I went through EMT training and we practiced giving each other saline. Not a big deal, really. As long as you're cold and heartless, watching other people suffer isn't too bad.

Doctors tell you not to look at the needle anyway because it is an involuntary instinct to move or tense when a pointy metal thing is entering your flesh. But, needles don't bother me, never have done and unless I have a major mishap with them probably never will.

Fully understand why a tatoo feels alot less scary compared too a syringe...
Probably because it's jammed in from the start, syringes however needs too be eased in.

They're pretty sharp. I still remember trying to help grandma get a thread through the eye of a needle.
I failed miserably on my first try. LOL

I don't like them. I had an allergic reaction when I was young and had to get an Epi-Pen. The directions are literally swish and jab. I didn't cry but that shot in my log hurt. I still don't like needles, just thinking of them makes my arm tingle. I can tolerate it though. The only thing that I'm iffy about is drawing blood for tests. That freaks me out because it's sucking it out of my vein

I was fine with needles as a kid but I feel rather anxious now after having experiences similar to Rina-San and Kobashi39. I need the tests done regularly so I have to deal with it but not watching the nurse, even when she is only getting the stuff out, helps a lot.

Shit scared of them until afterwards when I go "Oh well that wasn't as bad as I thought."

As long as I don't watch it go in I don't freak out or anything.

Plus they don't even hurt as much as you think it does. Today doctors/nurses uses chemicals to kinda make the needle much less painful going inside the skin.

I often donate blood, so I'm used to needles!!
