It hasn't been officially announced, and since the manga is still on hiatus, I think it is only just a rumor. I expect we'll be waiting quite a while for a second season.

I used to dislike all the ecchi but after having re-watched the series SOO many times, I think it's an integral part of H.O.T.D. It just wouldn't be the same without it. I'm just glad they left out the ecchi for the loli (what was her name again? With the dog?) That gave me huge bounds of respect for the creators and i see them in a "whole different light", so-to-speak..

Awesome series, especially since there's really no other zombie anime (I mean actual killer, flesh eating zombies). I wouldn't hold my breath though on a second season or even the continuation of the manga anytime soon, if at all. Its been on hiatus for quite a while.
