Try Blue Gender. It's a Sci-Fi anime of humans vs giant bugs. The way I put it makes it sound generic but it's a good violent anime with a good story.

Afro Samurai: Stylish anime, funny, violent with good fights. Very short but the good thing about it being short is it doesn't ever stop with important story elements or action.

I'd recommend Zero no Tsukaima (2 seasons). It's not the best show out there, but it's a pretty fun, albeit generic romantic comedy with some fantasy and adventure thrown in.

You can also try Kanon, sort of a fantasy drama, which is a bit more serious. That's about all I've got right now, so hope you found that useful.

Hey folks what can i recommend to my typical sixteen year old brother?
we have pretty different tastes in genres so i'm finding it hard at the moment to recommend him anything. Animes he's watched are pretty much action orientated, fantasy adventurous, sports, shoot 'em ups and kicking ass stuff which he enjoys lol.
So far he has watched the usual popular stuff like Naruto, Bleach, Death note, D gray man, Black lagoon, Prince of tennis and Cowboy Bebop.
Oh and by the way please no hentai/harems or any other saucy stuff as i would rather he grow up a clean minded decent young man that i can be unashamed of lol

Sixteen and still clean you sure? You probably just haven't caught him yet. Though I understand not wanting to recommend him that stuff. Though I don't think we can recommend hentai can we?

Afro Samurai and Blue Gender are good expect they do have sex/nudity scenes, but if he did watch I'm sure he would like it for the action (I mean the fights).

Black Cat is clean though I'm not sure how good the anime is since I focused on the manga. Unrealistic fighting but still good fights that don't get too out of hand, odd description since haven't read it for a long time.

Trigun is clean and good I've watched the anime which has really good dubbing. Very much a gunslinger themed anime with very noble main character who tries not to kill anyone.

Rurouni Kenshin is a good samurai anime.

Heroic Age- I didn't like it but it's the kind of title that is for people who like action, supposedly.

Edit: I think it should be said be requesters whether they want an anime that isn't blocked by Crunchyroll or if they don't mind if it is blocked.
