Recommend me an Anime! **Read First Post!**

@Ongkanon
I don't know any anime that would fit all your categories, but if you're willing to drop the space aspect, I'd recommend: - Full Metal Alchemist (I recommend the original. I did not like Brotherhood.) - Samurai Champloo - Same guys that did Bebop - Darker than Black - Death Note - Code Geass - Also, Trigun came out with a movie in the last year or two "Badlands Rumble." @Trithh - Can't really help, sorry. I've only watched 4-5 episodes of Durara, and I didn't like it, and I didn't even understand what it was about, but there's quite a few people who liked it, so I'm sure someone can help you out. |

So, I've been watching Katekyo Hitman Reborn, but I've been sitting around without much to do today and I want an anime to watch other than Reborn.
Hopefully from the anime I've watched you'll get a feel of what I like -D. Gray Man -Naruto Shippuden -One Piece -Fairy Tail -Deadman Wonderland I usually like watching anime with 100+ episodes, but I would be open to watching some short 20 episode animes. |

Hi all!
I've literally just joined this hour as I only heard about this service. I've no idea what's been going on in anime in the last few years, but I'm aching to get back into it. I added Kids on the Slope to start, but I have no idea where to go from here. Here's a list of my top favorite anime I've enjoyed watching: Berserk Evangelion Escaflowne Cowboy Bebop Last Exile The newest anime I've seen is probably Death Note, so as you can tell, I've been out of the loop for some time now. I'm mostly a fan of sweeping fantasy/sci fi epics. I have fun with some of the school anime, but I can only take it in small doses. Sooo... help? Cheers! |

Hm, what's been going on in anime... - Clannad came out. It's pure romance/school comedy/tragedy, that's not like anything on your list, and I'm not recommending it to you, but it's probably the most popular of the genre now. - Full Metal Alchemist had a remake (Brotherhood). The original anime was out pacing the manga, so they anime creators made their own ending, which turned out to be different from the manga. Producers decided to go back and retell the story. (I did not think Brotherhood was any good) - The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya came out. A dark horse turn blockbuster anime. I highly recommend it. Season 2 then came out and was great until the developers did the "Endless 8." - Eureka 7 came out, which reminded me of Last Exile. Both I think were nice adventures, but too much melodrama. - I'm not positive, but I think they made another season to Last Exile (I remember reading about it, but I never watched it). - Code Geass was the next big blockbuster I can think of. It's very much like Deathnote in the "playing chess with people's lives." - Evangelion started to be remade, this time they're telling the story in 4-6 movies instead of an anime series. I have not kept up on this, but I do not think they're all out yet. - 5 Centimeters per Second came out. It's an animated 3 episode "movie," which I think has the best animation to date. It's a romance. - Trigun the movie (Bandlands Rumble) came out. It's a lot of fun, and I like it. If you haven't watched Trigun the series... you should! There's a rumor that they're remaking Trigun? - Stein's; Gate: kind of a strange/comical/drama sci-fi anime. It received quite a bit attention. Of course in the meantime there's been a lot of really good anime that I didn't list, but those are the major ones I can think of. |

:O New Last Exile?? Holy balls I'm in! Thanks for the tip on that, that made my day!
I HAVE watched the Eva movies, at least the two new ones that have been released. 1 was ok, but 2 was fantastic, it plays with structure a bit differently but it actually feels quite cinematic, it has a much better arc than the first one I thought. I did see Trigun long ago and enjoyed it. I'll seek the movie for sure! Everything else on your list sounds completely unknown to me, but all sound interesting - I thank you for the suggestions, I think I have a good place to start. Cheers! |
