Seen Steins;Gate or Kanon... or Steins;Gate (my favorite anime)?

Looking for an action anime with a splash of comedy here and there. Full Metal Panic I think was really good but at times may have leaned too far into the comedy part. Same thing with Sunabozu (Desert Punk) but that I didn't mind. Something too serious would be closer to Wolf's Rain or Ghost in the Shell, while something too silly without a doubt would be Gintama.

I need a good mindfuck anime. I'm talking about it goes in a complete different direction than you expected kind of mindfuck not like paronia agent mindfuck.

Sword art online is a very popular right now, no wonder why I have seen the same request about people wanting to watch something similar to SAO. So far I have found out 2 animes that fit this description, and the 2 of them are considerer of good quality.

1.- Accel world. This Light novel/manga/anime author's, Kawahara, Reki, is the same creator of SAO, therefore, the possibility that you like this anime too is very high. Here the synopsis:

2.- Summer wars. This movie, produced by Madhouse, is quite popular right now, so you might already watch it. If not, do it! Is a great movie, with beautiful art and animation. The context is similar to SAO, but with the limits of the technology of a more nearest feature than 2022. Here the synopsis:

3.-One outs. Finally, regarding some anime similar to death note, One out is another philological anime, but instead of psychological/police, this one is psychological/sports. Even if you don't like baseball, I will recommend to watch this excellent anime. Here the synopsis:

Well xxrobinchrisxx, I hope this info can help you to find the next anime you'll watch, and as I have tell to all the people that I know that is watching SAO, if you like the show so far, I recommend you to read the light novel, that in fact, is not finish yet, it will make your experience of SAO more enjoyable and most likely get you closer the characters.

I think I understand what you mean with mindfuck, so even when most of the animes I will recommend you are very popular, so you might already watched them, I will give you a list of what I think are the best animes under the mindfuck category:

To add to tabriz, I'd also say, "The Tower of Druaga."

To me, SAO is successful cause people like that awesome lonewolf style that Kirito embodies. Accel World's main character is... well, not that.

I think my favorite mindfuck anime is now:

"Higurashi no Naku Koro ni"

and I would also add

"Another"

Looking for an anime where the main character is implied to have autistic traits (Key The Metal Idol for example) and still ends up a good person OR a cutesy anime (not those ghostly frail eyes, unsettling to watch) OR a sentai (Super Hero) series like Sailor Moon or Gatchaman.

I'm curious about both of the animes you recommended, actually a tried both of them, but dropped them after a few episodes.
Talking about this "mindfuck" term, I think both of them can be describe like that, but I really felt like there was more gore/Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, or more horro/Another. Still, I keep feeling that I'm missing something good, specially with Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, so, do you still recommend me Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, even if I don't specially like gore?
