Hey, my to-watch list is almost empty and I need a few things to watch during winter break.

Try these:
- Ergo Proxy
- Accel World
- Darker Than Black
- Claymore
- Durarara!!

Oh, I have been thinking about watching the Fate/Stay Night series. Is it pretty good?

Even though Fate/Stay Night was released first, I'd suggest starting with Watch Fate/Zero. It's a prequel and will explain somethings better.

I like drama, comedy, and some fantasy. Some really good animation and art would be nice, yes I'm fine with SHAFT productions. Please recommend me something!

It also seems like you like female leads. :)

Try these:
- Ano Natsu

Completely new user to this site. I was stuck on choosing a new anime, and was looking for some help!

Interests:
-Great Characters is what really gets me hooked onto certain anime. I'll watch any type of anime if it has a handful of really good characters.
-Always looking for a nice action anime

- Can't bring myself to watch animes based on sports

Here are some of the animes I like:
- Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood
- Trigun
- Gurren Lagann
- Death Note -
-Darker Than Black
-Claymore
-Hellsing Ultimate
-Fate Zero
-Code Geass
-Samurai Champloo

Please help me find a pretty nice anime for me!

Baccano!- Great characters. Good action (most of it gunslinging). Just a heads up, the first episode is kinda confusing since it shows the end of the series first, but outside of the frantic pacing of the show, it's fantastic. I personally like the crazy pacing. Set in the early 1930s New York.

X the series- Has great characters, decent fight scenes, and a pretty good story. It's about the end of the world.

Katanagatari- The art style is a little different in this show. I love it, but it's not everyone's cup of tea. It's about a duo that go on a quest to gather swords. It's about 12 episodes long, though each episode is an hour (~40 minutes) long.

Monster- If you liked Death Note, I think you'll like this. A doctor throws away everything to save a young boys life. 10 years later, the boy grows up to be a serial killer. Doctor decides to hunt him down.

Eden of the East
Rurouni Kenshin
Nabari no Ou
Soul Eater

Thanks for the suggestions! I have already seen Baccano!, Rurouni Kenshin and Soul eater. These 3 are 100% the kind of anime I enjoy. Definitely will try your other suggestions, Thanks!

I'm just gonna add Princess Tutu to the list of things to try, it's an interesting take on the magical girl genre (like Madoka Magica) and also a fun take on fairy tales.

If you want something with good visuals, I also suggest Mawaru Penguindrum. Also, Arakawa Under the Bridge (another SHAFT production) is a comedy with great visuals.

Well, there is always Higurashi. And Monster, although Monster's completely insane character isn't a homicidal rampage kind of character. He is a calm, cool, genius who finds ironic, sometimes sadistic ways of killing, like chasing a man who is already going to die for sport. Code Geass has some crazies, although you need to get a way into the series before they start showing up. If you liked Guilty Crown, you will be blown away by Code Geass though. If you simply want bloody violence, just watch the last episode of School Days.

I'm looking for an anime that can expand my horizons a little bit. I recently watched Nodame Cantabile and I really enjoyed the way that the audience is subjected to highly technical aspects of musical theory without having to have really any prior knowledge at all (though I was a trombone player for about 10 years so I do have a slight appreciation for orchestrated music).

I also really enjoyed Chihayafuru a whole lot, which is about that competitive ancient Japanese card game. I went into it with zero knowledge of the game, and it was presented to me in a way that was easy for me to understand, while also getting technical and detailed with the matches. And the matches were so epic in how they were animated you really got pulled into them.

It's probably a pipe dream to find something slice of life with great characters like these aforementioned titles; having to do with some kind of sport or skill or game. But I would be interested to hear any suggestions.

Try:
Shion no Ou (Shogi/chess sort of)
Kaleido Star (circus acrobatics)
Skip Beat! (acting mostly)
Angelic Layer (not real game)
Hitohira (acting/drama club)
Stellvia of the Universe (mini space ship piloting I guess you could call it)
Moretsu Pirates (more spaceship stuff)
Dennou Coil (not the same as the others but you should check it out anyway)

Nodame Canabile was really good so finding somthing as mind expanding will be hard. It was a little easier to think of anime like Chihayafuru.

I'm watching Aria the animation riths now and I'm just about at the end of the season and I'm hoping for a proper climax, like Akari is forced to go home and might not be able to return. I don't think I'm going to get one though. This doesn't seem like an anime that will have the type of climax I'm looking for.
If you can think of anything that is like this but does have a good climax can you pleas tell me. Laid back, slice of life with a good intense climax. I like emotion.
Oh and don't say Haibane Renmei because I already thought of that one. It is a good example though.
