I am pretty new to anime (I mean I've literally only seen Trigun, Hellsing, and a couple episodes of Fullmetal alchemist; all of which I enjoyed, especially Trigun) and Crunchyroll. I am looking to watch more anime, but I am unsure of what to watch. In general I love the generes of fantasy (especially),comedy, sci-fi, horror, action, and thriller. I don't usually like drama or romance (however some romance is fine as long as its not the main thing). I am fairly certain I will be buying a Crunchyroll subscription, and I do have a Hulu plus subscription. I am mainly looking for Anime that can be found on either Crunchyroll or Hulu. Thanks in advance :) Jillshadow In addition to the other shows that were mentioned (watch those), here are a few others: Shiki- horror Darker than Black- sci-fi/ action Steins;gate-sci-fi Baccano- action (but really has a bit of everything) Angel Beats- it has drama, comedy, and action in it. Monster- thriller Death Note- thriller Eden of the East- thriller Mayou- fantasy (on crunchyroll) Spice and Wolf- fantasy Princess Tutu- fantasy Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles- fantasy. Honestly the manga is 10x better than the anime, but I would give the anime a try. Arakawa Under the Bridge- comedy (on crunchyroll) Nichojou/ My Ordinary Life- comedy (on crunchyroll) Puella Magi Madoka- dark magical girl show. Don't let the magical girl part fool you, it is an amazing show. (on crunchyroll) Fate Zero-- kinda fantasy/thriller. Another AMAZING show. (on crunchyroll) If I didn't specify the show is on Crunchyroll, then it is on hulu. ... I just finished Steins;Gate, having found the latter half so compelling that I spent all day today watching it (vacation day). For me it got off to a rocky start--it just wasn't interesting me. It wasn't bad, but seemed mediocre and just didn't "catch". Then at about episode 8 it did. And I ended up liking so many things about it. Anyway, that's to say to Jillshadow that I strongly recommend it too. And I almost listed Arakawa Under the Bridge because I think it's brilliant and very funny and I adore it. I'm not sure why I ended up leaving it off my recommendation in the end. But, yeah, I'll add weight to that recommendation as well. Also, Monster. Very, very good in several ways. The only other one on this list that I've seen (though several are on my "want to," as I've heard great things about them) is Mayou. I'm lukewarm about that one. I have been watching all the episodes and I don't dislike it, but it's not keeping my interest all that well. But I know others are liking it a lot, so... |

It took me 7 months to watch the first 8 episodes, and 2 days to watch the rest of them. I'm actually not up to date on Mayou. I liked what I've seen of the first few episodes. Mayou gets compared to Spice and Wolf a lot, but I very much prefer Spice and Wolf to it. I don't even see a comparison, really. |

LtBeefy wrote: Don't think ill get much help on this one since I think ive searched this genre out pretty well. But does anyone know a good mecha anime? Pretty much seen all the well known ones, atleast I think I have. Below is a list of ones Ive watched. So mainly curious if there are any hidden gems out there. Also I wont go into listing any sequels of series since if I did that it would make this list even longer. So I just put the main name for everything. Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide Gundam (when i say gundam I pretty much mean all the gundam series)(unicorn is the best one i think) break blade Neon Genesis code geass Eureka 7 (along with Eureka 7 AO) Full metal panic Heroic age isekai no seikishi monogatari aka Tenchi Muyo (enjoyed this one alot) mars day break Escaflowne Dual! Parallel Trouble Martian Successor Nadesico Muv-luv total eclipse RahXephon Ride back Star Driver Gurren Lagann I wouldn't call this a mecha anime, but there is mecha in it, and the story is well-done (revenge and the consequences of revenge); it has action as well as quieter thoughtful parts, and it's visually stunning: Gankutsuou. (Yes, it's an adaptation of that The Count of Monte Cristo and that gave me some doubts to start with, but it is a fabulous and brilliant adaptation. I almost guarantee you'll like it. |

Request
I have a bad habit of being unable to finish an anime, but especially compelling series (Angel beats, stein's gate) always get me through to the conclusion. I enjoy many genres of anime: Slice of life (haganai-esque), fantasy, mystery, most anything really. I just like charater development and plot. I'm sorry that's all I can offer you. Here you can find a list of the majority of anime that I have seen. I'd love for any recommendations http://www.anime-planet.com/users/Ambition/anime?include_types=8,2,7,4,1,6,3,5&include_tags=none&exclude_tags=none&include_status=1,2,3,5 ! |

Klinko Baccano!- I feel like I recommend this to almost everyone, but it is a great show. I see you have Durarara on your list. Baccano is based on novels by the same author who wrote Durarara. Penguin Drum- fantasy/mystery/crazy show. It has some really cool characters in it. Just a heads up, the ending heads off into some deep, symbolic territory, but I didn't think it detracted from the enjoyment of the show at all. It was a fun ride. Puella Magi Madoka Magica- I feel about this show how I feel about Steins;gate. It took a few episodes to get really started, but then it really took off and had me hooked. Those two shows surprisingly have a lot in common, but I won't go into details as it would seriously spoil the show. It is a magical girl show, but don't let that keep you from watching it. It's short, too. Only 12 episodes. Spice and Wolf- A good fantasy series. Fate Zero- action Gurren Lagann- action Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood- A show with a really good story and was really good at world building. Princess Tutu- Another take on a magical girl show. This one plays a lot with stories and fairy tales. His and Her Circumstances- A romantic comedy/slice of life. Lots of character growth in the show, especially for the main girl. Soul Eater- I see you have some shounen/action shows on you list (Bleach, One Piece, Naruto). I think you'd like Soul Eater. Darker than Black- action Trigun- action/comedy Kokoro Connect- slice of life Ano Natsu- drama/supernatural Hope you find some you like! |

I loooovveee HxH, Magi, One Piece, Rurouni Kenshin.
For shoujo/rimance/more girly stuff - My Little Monster, Toradora, Hanakakeru Seishounen. I've started watching Btoom, Accel World, and Sword Art Online -- but I've never finished them :( Just because I can't bring myself to watch more. Any recommendations for me? :) I want a fantasy/action/romance! If that's possible or as close. |

I'm looking for suggestions of cute, potentially bubbly, light-hearted/silly, romantic comedies as well. (Not necessarily all in one)

I'd also suggest giving blast of tempest a shot. The has its slow points but it makes up for it when it gets going. Now this is just my reccomendation which isnt really based on the shows you listed. |

Please recommend me an anime to watch.
Either something fun (in a Mecha + ecchi) way And I have watched a lot of these (Freezing, Infinite Stratos, Strike Witches) or something melancholy/thoughtful: i.e. (Angel Beats!, Now and Then Here and Now) Thanks in advance! |

Can you guys recommend me horror anime to watch on crunchyroll?
I've already seen Another, School Days, Hell Girl. I was watching Occult Academy but can't really seem to get into it. If you have some recommendations that aren't on crunchyroll, I don't mind. I would still appreciate it. Thanks everyone. |

I'd say give Monster a try. Now its not a horror. But it deals with murder and is kinda dark id say. Now its not on crunchyroll but you can easily find fansubs of it. If you want to know a place to find it send me a message. I know a trusted place you can watch the fansub which is well done. Anime hasnt been liscensed |
