I'm looking for something funny, preferably with some action in it too.

Here are some shows I like: Gintama(of course), Full Metal Panic, Sket Dance, and Code Geass(admittedly not funny in any way)

I would suggest:
One Piece
Soul Eater
Kenichi the mightiest disciple(never finished)

For straight humor:
Baka to Test
The World God Only Knows

Attack on Titan got me curious about anime again. I'd love to get some recommendations on anime similar to it.

In my early days i loved:

- Golgo 13
- ninja scroll
- vampire hunter D
- vampire hunter D bloodlust
- vash the stampede
- COWBOY BEBOP (best)
- samurai champloo
- Generally, i like adult themed (not sexually) animes

What i dont like:
- kids with spikey hair and girls with short school uniforms. I dont hate anime with kids in them (i love titan so far), its just that i have noticed anime themed around these kind of characters contain plots that dont appeal to me:
- Inuyasha
- naruto
- death card (i think thats the name)
- one piece
- full metal alchemist.
- Anything themed around giant robots

Thanks!

I'm looking for an adventure anime with romance. It doesn't have to be full on romance, but something with strong character development. Maybe something along the lines of Mirai Nikki, Dusk Maiden of Amnesia, Blade of Tempest, Sword Art Online, etc.?

Hopefully someone can recommend something within the spectrum I provided.

The director of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya directed a show several years later called Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! It's thematically-similar to Suzumiya, except it approaches the subject from the opposite perspective; there's a girl who's trying to construct her own reality, but everyone thinks she's crazy. The show investigates why she feels compelled to practice a fantasy, and if that practice is legitimate or illegitimate. It's the same animation style as Suzumiya.

This show is more violent than the other shows you listed (it's as inspired by Snatch and other Guy Richie films as anime more generally), but it's definately a fun show with a lot of action. Baccano! might be right for you.

Like the fellow above, I'd try Baccano! It's not for kids, and it's a damn good time with action and humor (and a dash of romance). The first episode starts esoteric (although interesting, I think), but be sure to give it at least two episodes.

I never finished this show, but Black Lagoon is widely considered a darn good time. It's got some humor and, again, a lot of action.

When you say Death Card, do you mean Death Note? It doesn't really matter, I'm just curious; I've never heard of Death Card.

You may also enjoy Monster. It's a psychological thriller.

I'd recommend Katanagatari, not so much based off of the shows you listed, but because, heh, it's, "an adventure anime with romance... with strong character development." It's by the same writer as Bakemonogatari, and employs that trademark dialogue, although in a far more shonen environment.

You may also enjoy Kurenai.

This thread is exactly what im looking for! xD

CR ID/Name: Zammwich

Im looking for something that involves combat somehow xD generally things on the supernatural level or involving powers. I'm not a big fan of mech based or space based anime's but there have been exceptions xD. Some favourite anime of mine Include: Hitman Reborn, Hunter x Hunter, Samurai x, Sword Art Online, All of the Hack series, ergo proxy. Ive seen most of the main stream things like naruto, bleach, yu yu, one piece. Also Lately I've been into things like attack on titan, gantz, death note so things along those genres would be great!

I can think of a few.

Black Lagoon:
Hyper-violent and super fun mercenary series with a heart (and Nazis). Warning: the second season gets disturbing.

Available via Youtube thanks to Funimation: http://www.youtube.com/channel/SW0MKiVodCm74.

Black Rock Shooter:
This is hit-or-miss, and the story is confusing. But the fights are pretty badass. It's also short (8 episodes).

AMV: Make A Move.

(I don't know of any legal streaming options).

[C] Money of Soul and Possibility Control:
This is an extraordinarily different anime that's like Pokemon meets The Wall Street Journal. It was basically a thinly veiled attack on poor investment practices, of all things. But it's crazy in all the right ways and kicks some ass.

Available via Youtube thanks to Funimation: http://www.youtube.com/channel/SWOYsXOZxSpCs.

Claymore:
This is a Berserk clone: (female) warriors with gigantic swords travel a fantasy world slaying demons. It could've been much, much better, but it still had its cool moments. The finale deviates poorly from the manga, however.

You can stream this on Funimation's website when it's not crashing: http://www.funimation.com/claymore.

Fate/Zero:
This is a superb series in practically every respect: mages and familiars (spirits of fallen heroes, such as Alexander the Great and Gilgamesh) seek each other out in battle to win the Holy Grail. Important: SABER IS A BADASS.

This is seriously one of the most acclaimed series in recent years (and it's here on CR).

Humorous (but great) review: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8I7a2RRrTE (NSFW language warning).

And now I think I'm going to go marathon Black Lagoon. Again...

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for a new show to watch since I just recently finished a series and I am caught up to the shows I am currently watching. I like shows with good plots and I prefer intelligent characters. I really like shows that stimulate my brain like Code Geass, Death Note, and Attack on Titan. However, I also like shows with interesting and unique characters with drama like Blast of Tempest, Toradora, Nabari no Ou, and Fate Zero (was good but almost too dark.) I like shows that pull me in from the first episode or shows that give off a so-so impression at first, but after a few episodes become addicting like Gintama. I liked Skip Beat and Glass Mask a lot. I dislike Uta Prince no Sama because the characters don't have enough drive or intelligence and the plot seems poor. I love comedy like Gintama, Hayate the Combat Butler, Level E, and Wagnaria. I hope I gave enough information in my run-on. Please recommend me something. Arigato gozaimasu in advance.
