Ok so I feel like crying again lol so are there any more sad animes? I have seen angel beats and clannad & after story, right now I'm watching air and anohana.

Try episode 18 of Sengoku Collection. It's a one-off (like most of the episodes), and it shows incredible economy. It's a wonderfully done twenty-two minute blast of Impressionist art.

I'd also watch Voices from a Distant Star. It's a twenty-two minute or so OVA, and it's a damn good view.

Finished Zetsuen No Tempest a couple of months ago and have been looking for something similar. I liked the feel darkness in the animation(particularly in the first 12 episodes), as well as the mystery(it kept me guessing til the very end), of course the romance, although it was subtle as the main character's love interest was already dead. I like stuff with flashbacks, I think it's cool and Tempest definitely got it right in that respect. Also -sorry if I'm being too specific- the action... I am not an action junkie, I like dialog but I like a fight here and there for good measure, magic is always a plus and the quality of the animation is very key. Last but certainly not least, the soundtrack!! Tempest closing soundtrack was amazing.

I've asked for suggestion on what to watch next(similar/along the lines of what Blast of Tempest offered) and the recommendations weren't the best. I ended up watching DuraraRa, which wasn't bad but it's wasn't great either(a bunch of holes in the story and many things weren't answered), then some jokester told me I should watch Pet Girl of Sakura-something. If you know what it is, there's no need for me to say anything, if you don't, well... It's not what I was looking for. Now I have started watching Future Diary(Miraii Nikki) which is ok but nothing spectacular and I'm already 10 episodes deep. Guilty Crown has also been suggested but I don't know if I should watch that. Another anime that I recently finished and did quite enjoy was "K" . I loved the animation and the soundtrack was pretty awesome as well. I didn't care for the sort of gay innuendos but it is what it is.

SOrry about the length of this post, I just wanted to give a thorough description of what I want and THANKS for your help :)

Getting carried away again in 3... 2... 1...

So it seems like you enjoy:
Good Script
Adventure
Psychological - Perhaps
Action - Perhaps
Dark Animation
Magic/Fantasy
Mystery
Romance

K has 7 and Blast of Tempest has all 8 of these, so let's try a few others.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya - 5 (no action, adventure or dark animation)
You've probably seen this one, but if you haven't, you need to. It starts out as a very strange little slice-of-life where things feel a bit off, but then it becomes much more than just that. Hard to explain without spoilers. It has a really weird and random first episode, which is a crappy student film that the characters make for the school festival. You'll need to bull through that one, despite it not making any sense, because it becomes more important as time goes by. Episode 2 is where the show "really" starts, and is easy watching from that point on.

Bakemonogatari - 7 (or 6 or 5 depending) (not an adventure. Action doesn't seem actiony and animation isn't very gritty)
A guy who was recently cured of vampirism catches a girl that falls into his arms only to find out that she weighs next to nothing. This starts a pattern of him finding girls with supernatural problems and going great lengths to help them. This one is difficult for me to recommend, because it took me 6 or 7 episodes to fully understand what kind of show this was. It's a comedy, but then it's a psychological show, but then it's ecchi, but then it's a mystery, and now it's a comedy again, okay... Once I figured out what the show really was, I loved every second of it from that point on. Plus, you get: a sequel, a prequel, a "second season" coming soon, and the infamous toothbrush scene. It's a very unique viewing experience that I think needs to be seen.

Dusk Maiden of Amnesia - 6 (no action or adventure)
A middle-school guy that goes to a creepy school meets a ghost girl, and the show sort of traces their relationship development. There's aspects of horror along the way in an episodic format. The show goes from a slice-of-life / ecchi to a really heartwarming romance. The mystery and fantasy elements are interesting, too.

Neon Genesis Evangelion - 7 (arguably) (again, not really an adventure, and none too romantic honestly)
In a semi-post-apocalyptic world, mankind is starting to be attacked by powerful and mysterious creatures called Angels. The main character, Shinji, is called upon by his distant father to pilot the Evangelion (the only weapon capable of properly taking on an Angel) and to become mankind's savior. Shinji reluctantly accepts, but is uncomfortable in his position as mankind's last hope. The show traces his struggle to find true meaning or purpose in his life that he feels he has no control over. One of my favorite shows ever. Essentially a must-see. You've probably seen it already, though lol.

Shin Sekai Yori - 8 (seems like a winner, lol)
A group of 5 psychic children in the year 3000 enter adolescence and their esper powers start to manifest, and eventually they start to learn the dark secrets of the society that they were raised in. I started watching this one at the same time that I started Blast of Tempest. I finished Tempest earlier, but I liked Shin Sekai Yori more, once they were both finished. It's also the only one out of those I'm recommending that's a straight-up adventure like Tempest was. One thing that Tempest did better was character personality, depth, maturity, etc. but SSY did it's atmosphere, plot, and music better in my opinion. That might not be your opinion but it wouldn't hurt to try. Plus, it's probably the closest to what you're actually looking for.

Fate/Zero - 7 (maybe?) (adventure is arguable, and none too romantic)
Kiritsugu Emiya is chosen by the Holy Grail to participate in the war for the Holy Grail. If you claim the Grail in the end, then you get one free wish to fulfill whatever you desire. But what does a ruthlessly pragmatic and disillusioned killer like Kiritsugu truly desire for himself? This show is amazing, it's on Crunchyroll, and you should watch it lol

Puella Magi Madoka Magica - 7 (no romance)
Hard to explain this one without spoilers, but let's just say this turns the traditional magical girl story on it's head. I heard lots of stuff beforehand saying that this was the best show ever made and whatnot. I didn't think it was that amazing, but it was pretty great.

I also second the recommendation of Steins;Gate.

Be sure not to think too highly of any of these shows before starting them, because then the hype might just lead to disappointment. Also, I'm sorry for recommending so much. I can't help it lol. Please don't feel obligated to watch everything I suggest, only what sounds interesting.

Wow... thank you so much for taking the time to type all this out. I definitely will check out at least 2 or 3. The ones that sound interesting. Yes, I guess I am a sucker for romance but I don't like it to be the driving force behind the anime. You know what I mean? Anyways, I should've perhaps specified that I don't like nonsensical stuff like warewolves and/or vampires and that sort of thing. I really dislike it but...
I probably should've also mentioned the animes I've already watched, Evangelion being one of them. It's a mix of genres...

Candy Candy(not proud of it)
THe Rose of Versailles
Evangelion
Saint Seiya(original series, Hades, movies)
Fairy Tail(I'm stuck on ep 40)
K
Blast of Tempest
Sakura Card Captors(don't judge me, I was 8)
Durarara

I forgot to say I am obsessed with female characters with purple-ish hair. it all goes back to Athena. It's the main reason I started watching K(Neko) and even Tempest--saw a picture with a girl with purple hair--even though she turned out to be the princess whose hair was actually pink instead.

If I may get an extra word in for Bakemonogatari. This show has one of my favorite character designers, and has 2 main love interests with purple hair lol, plus another fun character with a purple bobcut. And yeah, it's got supernatural stuff, but I wouldn't consider it to be a supernatural kind of show, despite it being about spirits and whatnot. It's a show that's much more at home when it's being difficult to categorize. But anyway, we've got 2 main girls:

Hitagi Senjougahara

Tsubasa Hanekawa

and also Suruga Kanbaru

But anyway, I hope you enjoy what you end up watching.

I started Steins Gate since several people have recommended it. I'm already on episode 4 so... The time travel thing seems a bit too obvious. What I liked about Blast of Tempest is that nothing was too obvious, it kept you guessing and all that but I guess we'll see.
I haven't even finished Miraii Nikki yet(halfway throught it) and I've already started another one. Not to mention I'm currently watching Attack on Titan but that's a whole nother story.

Hopefully Steins Gate picks up a bit because right now I'm not too sure if I wanna keep watching this.

You have entered a maze of twisty passages...

It has a 9.17 rating (out of 10 by nearly 86,000 users currently) on MAL and is ranked as the #3 anime there. I suggest sticking with it to see why...

I guess... I really hate the main character. He's just so... retarded(for lack of a better word), love the little girl, she's so cute and the other girl(who's actually a guy? according to Okabe).

It does start off a bit slow. And people always view you as crazy when they don't know the real story, right? I'm not sure I would have stuck with the show long enough to get engaged in the characters if I had watched when it was airing one episode at a time, so there's something to be said for being able to marathon shows once they are completed.

Maybe Gosick? It's loosely based on Sherlock Holmes, who is played by a blonde loli teenager named Victorique de Blois. Kazuya Kujo, who stands in for Dr. Watson, is a Japanese boy who attends the same boarding school in a fictional European country in the 1920s. Victorique's half-brother is a detective who's always asking her for advice.

I'm kind of guessing with this, since it's been a long time since I watched this show and my memories of the plot are hazy. But I remember it being a lot of fun, even though many of the crimes they investigate (especially the final arc) were kind of dark. But it has an 8.28 on MAL, so I'm presumably not forgetting anything particularly terrible about it.

Should be worth looking at an episode and seeing what you think at least.

If you tell me a little more about what you would want in your ideal anime, and also those that you've watched and enjoyed, I'd gladly spend an hour writing you a recommendation lol

While I'm here though: [UPDATED]
The World God Only Knows (on Crunchyroll) (romantic comedy with a side of hilarious, plus a really good musical score)
An ultra-gamer who does nothing but play dating-sims unwittingly signs a deal with the devil to win the love of real-life girls, or else he dies. It doesn't really sound that good, but it's a really well done show, and it's one of the few that I've bothered continuing the manga for.

My Little Monster (on Crunchyroll) (lighthearted romantic comedy)
The main character is an antisocial girl whose only concern as of yet is studying, when she is volunteered to go hand papers to the infamous and mysterious delinquent of the school, only to find out that he's actually a really nice guy. This was my first voluntary venture into shoujo anime, and I'm really glad I picked it up.

Nyarko-san (on Crunchyroll) (harem comedy with a little ecchi, and very good voice acting from Nyarko)
A Japanese kid who likes reading H. P. Lovecraft books suddenly finds himself the object of affection of Nyarlathotep - The Crawling Chaos. But instead of a horrifying god, he gets a moe otaku girl. Cue the fantasy horror harem, hilarity, and floods of anime references. It's got a really awesome opening, as well.

Magi (on Crunchyroll) (action / fantasy, unexpectedly good and heartwarming at times)
Follows two characters (two protagonists! which is refreshing) - Aladdin and Alibaba - as they figure out the mysteries of Aladdin's past and the inner depths of Alibaba's character that make him fit to be a king. One of the few shounen series that didn't take me more than 10 episodes to actually start liking.

A Certain Magical Index (the first season is on Hulu) (action, science-fantasy)
In Academy City, a city full of schools for psychic kids (which, as it turns out, is a very sciencey thing), Touma Kamijou is your normal unlucky dude whose only ability is to be able to cancel out other people's abilities. Then he meets Index, a nun who is trying to escape from the Church of England (lol), and he gets caught up in an underground war between science and fantasy ('cause Christians are mages, you know). It's pretty good. A Certain Scientific Railgun, the spinoff, also happens to be a little better. They're both good at being very atypical shounen action shows, even though I think Index is a bit overly ambitious.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (2012) (you'll have to resort to the fansubs) (action with a side of ridiculous manliness and awesome music)
This show follows a different JoJo with every story arc, with each of their bizarre adventures (or at least the first 2, which the anime covers) being caused by a mysterious stone mask, and the misfortune that it carries with it. Cue the fabulous manliness, psychedelic color palettes, classic rock references (which I got a serious kick out of), and overall awesomeness,

Sorry it took so long with the follow-up. I had work.

Ok, considering all that, my initial recommendations all still stand, but now with more confidence that these are actually what you'd like, especially with JoJo's, which is like one of the fathers of shounen. I love how loud and ridiculous the whole show is, plus the protagonist of the second arc is voiced by Gintoki. Can't go wrong there.

Since I don't have any new recommendations, I'll make the ones above a bit more detailed

Bam, done. I hope you enjoy whatever you end up watching

I don't often recommend this show since it's quite the marathon, but you're clearly in for the long haul. Have you seen Cross Game? Technically, it's a sports show, and the fella who wrote it clearly loves baseball.

Now, I always found baseball to be exceedingly dull, but then I saw this show. I had a surprisingly good time watching an animated version of a game I find wildly boring. But far more importantly, the characterizations are superb. Its slice-of-life qualities are wonderfully done, and they are buttressed by some great characters. This is as much a slice-of-life as it is a baseball show, and neither side falters.

You've probably already seen this, but Usagi Drop is an excellent slice-of-life.
