Introducing a new service 'Recommend Me an Anime!' is all about serving one's special needs. Unlike the recommendation thread which is all about good anime in general, this will be more to fulfilling individual requests and and help members discover similar interests in anime selection.

Some simple guidelines to follow:

- Posts should be only about:
1. asking for a recommendation from fellow members
2. recommending anime to a particular member whom had requested earlier.

- Being specific and clear (for requesters)
1. Do include what genres and types of shows you prefer to watch.
2. If you aren't sure what you want to watch, but hope for recommendations that are similar to certain anime series that you have watched, kindly include a list of said anime in your post.

Edited the first post to make it clearer.

I have no preference, I'm open to anything! Specifically though, I like Mystery, Romance, Comedy, Action, Adventure, Psychological, Horror, and Drama. Feel free to open up my library by recommending something from a new genre I haven't watched.

In regards to recommendations, can you try and recommend something similar from any animes on this list:

AnoHana
ToraDora
My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU
The Pet of Sakurasou
TWGOK
ef - tale of melodies
ef - tale of memories
Usagi drop

----

Alright, surprise me! I have a long list of planned to watch, so let's see if you bring something I haven't encountered!

Someone please help me. I want to start watching a new ongoing anime but I don't know of any good ones that are currently out. I'm currently watching naruto and attack on Titan. I've watched about 30 episodes of one piece but stopped because there was too much to catch up on. I like all kinds of anime from action to drama to comedy as long as it has an engaging storyline and likeable characters. Does anyone have any recommendations?

No, it's not like Naruto. The 2011 reboot, which is ongoing, is pretty much straight from the manga. It's very good and doesn't take episodes off. If you want a good long shounen, I highly recommend HxH.

For current ongoing shows with good stories and characters, I would recommend:

The Eccentric Family (http://www.crunchyroll.com/the-eccentric-family)
Silver Spoon ( http://www.crunchyroll.com/silver-spoon)
Gatchaman Crowds ( http://www.crunchyroll.com/gatchaman-crowds)
and maybe Servant x Service ( http://www.crunchyroll.com/servant-x-service)

Hey guys, I've been looking for an animé to watch for a while but none I've come across recently have really interested me.

Out of those I have watched, the ones I've enjoyed the most have been (I've tried to rank in order of favouritism, but it's not quite perfect):

Death Note - Absolutely loved this show up until Near. I can't stop watching it, it's ridiculous how many times I've seen it.

Neon Genesis Evangelion (also the movies, I have been absolutely adoring them) - Either this or DN has to be my favourite. Probably DN though, I can't stop watching it every few months.

Code Geass (+R2) - Enjoyed this thoroughly, I'll probably be watching it again soon - though I did think they were pulling stuff out of their asses a little too often for me to enjoy it as thoroughly as, say, DN.

Sword Art Online - I watched this series upon release and enjoyed it enough to watch all of it again a couple of weeks ago. I found the VRMMO concept to be extremely interesting and thought the show's plot was good, though I also thought time advanced way too quickly. I read the Light Novel too after watching 'til the end of Aincrad, thought it was good enough until Gun Gale after which my interest pretty much dropped off a cliff.

Attack on Titan - I asked for recommendations a couple of months ago too, and this is one I was recommended. I've really enjoyed it so far, and have ended up following up the manga also, always wanting to know what will happen next. That being said, (other than a few glaringly obviously unpredictable events) I've found it to be quite obvious where the plot's going recently which is making me begin to lose interest.

The World God Only Knows - Another recommendation from here, I watched a couple of episodes earlier this week, which ended up leading me into two days of almost non-stop watching the remaining episodes, and still leaving me hungry for more. The comedy's good, though predictable, the girl's are adorable, and the show addresses cliche characters in what I find to be a hilariously head-on manner. For all I've loved about this series so far however, I found the plot beginning in the third season to be a little overly forced (and I think I would dislike this point a lot more than I do if it weren't for my impatiently curious nature leading me to read a couple of spoilers about the characters on the wiki, which somewhat eased the transition for me).

DragonBall Z - Being born in the early 90s in the UK, this was pretty much my introduction to animé, and so will always have a place in my heart.

Ouran High School Host Club - I'm really not sure why I enjoy this show, I just do.

Naruto - Kinda meh about this, I stopped watching the animé some time ago as I never really got into it after Sasuke vs Itachi, but I've been following the manga for completion's sake. I really enjoyed it from the Chunin exams up to the Sasuke Retrieval Arc though, it's just fallen out of grace for me since.

Rave Master - I enjoyed this show for a time, when I was still new to animé, and still go back and revisit a couple of episodes now and then but it's not the deep love I have for those at the top of this list.

I've also tried watching One Piece, Bleach and Fairy Tale, but have found them to be a tad too Shonen for me. And, after several recommendations, I gave Tengen Toppa Gurren Laggan a go, but got seriously bored after the second episode (usually I give shows I don't yet like a go beyond this point, but for some reason this series invoked in me a stifling, almost suffocating boredom I couldn't go on with.)

Enjoying the VRMMO aspect of SAO got me to watch a few episodes of Accel World, but it didn't manage to capture my imagination anywhere near as well as SAO did and I soon stopped with that also.

There are plenty of others, of course, but I can't really think of them off the top of my head.

Any help and recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

StSeungRi, so your list is really varied genre wise, and it sounds like you might be sort of like me, just looking for good quality anime with good stories and characters and production.

If you haven't seen Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, I'd recommend that. It's a shonen, but it is a lot more intellectual and thematic that the action-oriented One Piece, Bleach and Fairy Tail. So people might say you should watch the original FMA first, but I personally think Brotherhood is better, so that's my recommendation of the two. I think you can watch it on Hulu.

Another fairly intelligent recent show is Blast of Tempest, but that's my favorite anime of all time, so I pretty much recommend that to anyone who hasn't watched it yet. But it's a great story, and it doesn't treat you like you're stupid. It's also available on CR.

Just a few other high quality shows for consideration: Angel Beats! (on CR), Toradora! (CR), and maybe Soul Eater (Hulu).

Hope this helps!

Hi, there... here I am back for more.

I had this crazy dream a few nights ago and I started thinking it would be a great story for an anime. Then, I thought hey! maybe there is already an anime out with such story/plot.
Anyhow, this is the main premise... A guy who has this female friend, they just friends though, nothing more. She doesn't particularly love him but you get the feeling that she might like him. However, although he likes her, he never pulls the trigger and then she moves on to someone else. He then tried to react--and get her back.(though they never dated, they just hung out) but she now has a boyfriend.

Anyways that was my dream. Of course, it was so vivid and so depressing... when I woke up I was wondering wtf/why I had just dreamed about that.

Hope this doesnt come off as completely creepy/insane lol
If there is anything that resembles that story, I would be grateful to know what it is/where I can watch it. I know School Days may be somewhat similar to what I described but I've already seen that and though I enjoyed it, it was pretty ef'd up. Not quite the same thing either way.(He falls for her, she falls for him, all at the same time/he's a scumbag/etc).

I'm in dire need of something to fill the void in my life with. So I'm greatfull for any recommandations.

My prefered genres: Adventure, action, sci-fi, "series that gets your clock ticking", series of high production quality, series with a story that really touches you in some way and series you think are a lifetime "must watch".

If you like my taste and haven't watched some of these series I will be happy to recommende some. :)

Thank you.

The goriest Anime I can think of is Hellsing Ultimate. It's more gore than scary. But it's scary too. I can't think of any good scary anime. Maybe Death Note?

Not exactly sure what you mean by "unpredictable," but the most random show I have ever watched has got to be Haiyore! Nyarko-San, which you can find here on CR. Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere is pretty off the wall, too (on CR, as well).

Be warned that both of those have some wacky ecchi/fanservice stuff thrown in.

What I ment was that I gather info about a show and try to make hypothesis on what is to happen (e.g. if Someone is to die or something "shocking" is to happen) but will check out your recmendations thanks

No problem! I would be very impressed if you could predict anything that was going to happen in either of those shows xD
