Would love if someone could recommend me some Anime shows that have some very deep and great character development, I like Naruto due to the fact that you get to follow a person from hes younger days and how he overcomes hardships and grows stronger as the show goes on, but I rarely find that these days, or maybe im not searching hard enough.

Most shows these days seem to have characters that start out very strong from the beginning and that really puts me off from liking the show :vicx:. I'll take anything but Fairy Tale and Bleach.

If you're looking for Hero-developing Shounen, I'll suggest the currently airing Magi, on it's second season so you've plenty to watch and more to await.

The more serious development anime tend to be Seinen, and I suggest you check them out asap. Berserk and Fist of the North Star.
Fist of the North Star is on CR, and while difficult due to it's age, I'm having a blast with the deep characters and unexpected developments, you just have to wade through the first season, with it's crappy filler-like baddie of the week plot and truely worth it grand finale of a season end episode. That second season you'll get hooked on all that Character development.

Oh, and early Mobile Suit Gundam anime has some of the best younger>Older character and age development. Zeta Gundam just picks off where it ends after an 8 year time skip. What more could you ask for in a sequel?

don't know whether to marathon one piece or not, please let me know of it's worthiness as I was about to watch it but saw there was over 600 episodes - I'm quite into it after reading some reviews but i feel as though it will take me ages to get into the good stuff - please n thank you! oh and does it drag? ( i hope it doesn't!)

A few days old a request, but even if you did start it you wouldn't have reached the good part yet! It's just so long.

If you're going to watch One Piece, it has to be in a Marathon. In addition, I'll suggest having some long-runner experience. As per usual, the odd filler episode that doesn't fit the plot is likely to be skipped, and you'll quickly and eventually know which you want to skip and which you don't.

Make sure you're marathoning somewhere comfortable. I used Hulu and watched it for a month on the living room sofa. It takes about 60 episodes to get hooked, with my personal favorite episode happening around there. You'll feel the hype around episode 100, and by the time you reach 200 you're going to hate One Piece. Once you make it bast 210 you're in the safety zone, and the next 400 or so episodes will go by just nice.

I'll suggest only Marathoning the first 100, and deciding when you want to continue in the future.

You might want to give these two really good shows a try then.

I'd like a comedy, mystery. And I would prefer if it was on CR.

Dusk Maiden of Amnesia - This show has mystery, horror, comedy, and romance all mixed together.
Love Lab - If you just want comedy, this show is a blast. Hardest I've laughed in awhile.
Both on CR.

Any genre is fine, any time period; old or new, PG13 or 18+. Just something that is told in a unconventional storytelling method instead of a straightforward storytelling and chronological order.

Baccano - Takes place mostly in 1930's America, with immortals and mobsters. Every episode has multiple jumps back and forth though time and between different perspectives. Very nonlinear storytelling. Really good.

Flag - Special U.N. force with embedded reporter goes into war-torn country to retrieve a stolen peace symbol (a flag) and save the cease-fire. The ENTIRE show is only shown though the view point of whatever camera is on the scene ( news footage, photographs, video camera, gun sights, etc.). Has mecha.

Interstella 5555 The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem - This movie is a collaboration between Leiji Matsumoto and Daft Punk. Has no dialogue whatsoever, just the music of Daft Punk.

Hi, I'm looking for some anime to watch, I like it when the protagonist is over powered from the start, or when the protag is a maou or demon.

I've watched:

hataraku maou-sama
hagure yusha no estetica
Problem children are coming from another world
Rurouni Kenshin
Yusshibu
strike the blood
log horizon
sao

and others, That's just a little of what I've watched and what comes to mind off the top of my head.

Please and thank you :)

You might have already seen these but I'll ask again just in case:

Maoyu (there is a maou lead and an overpowered hero lead)

Demon King Daimao (overpowered demon lead)

"K" (no demons but it does have some overpowered characters in there)

Kore wa Zombie desu ka? (overpowered zombie lead)

Medaka Box (no demon but overpowered main lead)

Zettai Karen Children - The Unlimited (no demon but overpowered main lead)

Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet (no demon but overpowered main lead...in a sense)

Romance:
Toradora
Kimi Ni Todoke
His and Her Circumstances (a little older, but a classic)
Princess Jellyfish
Waiting in the Summer
Honey and Clover
Nodame Cantabile
Mysterious Girlfriend X (maybe, if the concept doesn't gross you out, it's a great show)
Golden Time
My Little Monster
Ouran Host Club (the anime is more comedy than romance, though)
Clannad
Paradise Kiss
Nana

Action (I don't keep up action, so hopefully someone else can give you more recent stuff)
Baccano! (action/gore)
Gurren Lagann
Trigun
Claymore (fantasy/action)
Darker than Black
X
Soul Eater

Horror/Gore:
Shiki

Hey guys :D
Looking for some light anime like Lucky Star. I don't mind fantasy/sci-fi, but nothing too complex or serious.

Thank you for your post.

I have just finished watching Maoyuu Maou Yuusha, a very good anime. Demon King Daimao was good but short.

I'll look into K.

I've looked into the zombie one once before it didn't really fit my taste. Sorry.

Medaka Box I'll check out, Thank you :)

Zettai Karen Children didn't do to much for me, Although I will agree, the silver hair person is over powered.

I'm sorry but I should of mentioned in my opening post that I don't really much care for anything with mecha and or suits. I'm sorry.

Kaze No Stigma was really good, Very overpowered.

/humanity-has-declined is the first one that jumps to mind for non-chronological (other than the Bakemonogatari series, of which you probably already know...).

For mostly wordless storytelling, there's Cat Soup, an OVA which you can probably find on Youtube or Vimeo. I'm not sure what substances the creator of that was taking when it was made, but I want some...

Thanks. I've watched 3 episodes of Humanity Has Declined so far, and its absurdity is really to my liking and I'm finding it to be really funny.
I've heard good things about Bakemonogatari series, but never gotten the chance to check it out; but since I'm in the mood for these absurd themes, I will be checking it out after I finish your first recommendation.
