If you think of us (the earth) in terms of how infinitesimally large the universe is and how infinitesemally small we are in comparison, Do we really exist?
Im a mathematician you see and if you can consider how much area the earth takes and compare it to the infinite area of space, we are technically nothing. Do you agree?

I think, therefore I am.

I disagree.
Even by your math you are rounding things off. We are not infinitesimally small, it's just that the number is SOOOO huge in comparison, that there's quite the high exponent on the calculation. Even so, it is still a finite number. Just really big vs. really small.
1^1 kajillion vs. 1^-1 kagillion is still a very specific size differential.
Sorry to take the magic out of it. Hi, I'm Captain Buzzkill.

We're infinitely small to somethings. Infinitely large to others.

 But anyway...
"We are technically nothing".
I don't agree.
As BrerSteve said, "it is still a finite number. Just really big vs. really small. "

Descartes hilariously claimed this. However, regardless of one's ability to think, existence still is even without acknowledgment.
My response to the thread: Yes, we exist. Small as we are in comparison to the Universe, our material construction makes it so we are here, and once that is no longer the case, our existence is a thing of the past.

The mirror can reflect a sexy man. Therefore I exist.

I agree that compared to the universe, the Earth can be seen as nothing. But compared to an electron, the Earth might as well be infinitely large. Like NoBreyner said it is a matter of perspective.

If the 'conservation of mass' is to be believed, then no matter how insignificant we are when compared to the observable universe - we will always have a place within it.

The universe is not infinite so what you say isn't valid. Atoms exist and they're tiny. Tinier still are protons and neutrons which have mass of about 1.67x10^-27kg, and even tinier are quarks. Going by your logic, no fundamental particles should exist, thus nothing in the universe would exist. Just because something is small does not make it non-existent.
But you might want to ask: what is existence itself?

I acknowledge my existence so therefore I do exist. If you acknowledge yourself too then guess you exist too.
