For me it's anime characters hands down.

Anime has Haruhi, who's literally omnipotent.
Anime has the Rail Tracer, who's so ridiculously powerful that the writer refuses to write his character in his stories again. And for those who've been following recent anime... Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide They have Madoka, also known as Godoka. Why? She becomes God. Not a demigod, or a spirit or a demon. But she became God by the Christian definition in the anime. |

Yes, my real name is Barbie...

Anime characters by far
never really got into Marvel |
|
There is no RL only ANIME...

DC has a few God Tier guys though
I mean Superman and Goku could probably be considered equals, (though Superman is a damn sight smarter) Green Lantern can do anything as long as he's got the Will to do it and Spectre is literally the Wrath of God personified. but you know what would be a really cool fight Luffy vs. Mr. Fantastic vs. Plastic Man |

Anime has tons of Gods but only control their universe(s) to a certain extent.
Marvel has the Living Tribunal who control and maintain the marvel multiverse and tons of godlike cosmic beings capable of traversing dimensions. IDK, about DC but I can tell you that Aquaman alone can summon a friggin' Cthulhu(of all aquatic creature.) If you asked me, all 3 factions has gods that can shake the heavens(literary.) |
|
I'd tell you, but then I'd have to kill you.

You got to love anime fans, most of them don't realize how RIDICULOUSLY over-powered (to the point its retarded) western comic book characters can become.
Its hard to measure who's has more OP characters between DC Marvel *EDIT*because I'm relatively new to the Marvel universe *end EDIT*, so I'll just say they're around the same while both of those worlds are beyond anything the anime/manga can provide. |

I don't know enough of the DC world or watch those kind of anime shows to say who has the strongest characters but I do know some Marvel characters are stupidly overpowered: Apocalypse, Scarlet Witch, Kang the Conqueror (Immortus), Thanos, Galactus and Cable just to name a few.

in terms of art quality I would pick marvel or dc hands down, the amount of detail found in a comic book is ridiculous.

I dunno, there's some characters for each group that are just retarded Goku and Superman being prime examples. Both have been categorized as these unbelievable juggernauts of raw power. Marvel even has characters that get up there like that. As I've heard the incredible hulk has collapsed a dimension through his raw powers. Phoenix is also up there in the retarded-strong area lol.
Personally though I think I would love to see goku and superman go at it. Both would have a hard time with the other. Superman like earlier posted is quite a bit smarter so he might come up with a plan that could fool goku into a critical mistake. Plus superman's powers aren't ki based like goku's is so goku would have a harder time tracking him down in high speed combat. Also given their natures neither goku nor superman would willingly cause excess damage so they couldn't bring their strength to their fullest. Both are easily capable of leveling planets and neither would want to to boot. I think this seems like comparing apples to oranges to pears all are good but none are superior |

Nakama mada irukara. Sorede iie

Marvel has more of the heroes that I loved to read about, but I was always a Superman, Batman and Green Lantern fan.

Don't forget about The Beyonder. That's going back a ways, but it has been quite some time since I last delved into the comic world. While apparently even more powerful beings exist in the Marvel universe, I recall one issue where he wiped a galaxy spanning civilization out of existence...and I don't mean destroying them, I mean literally erasing them from ever having existed. On the DC side, there was the point in the Zero Hour series where Hal Jordan gained sufficient power to destroy and re-create the universe. |

On the DC side, there was the point in the Zero Hour series where Hal Jordan gained sufficient power to destroy and re-create the universe. If it's like that, then there is Tengen Toppa on the anime side. I know it's not actually a character, but i think it can be considered a "power" of the series. TTGL SPOILER ALERT Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide I mean, Tengen Toppa Gurren Laggan ended up being able to THROW galaxies. And, if I recall correctly, the anti-spirals had the power to destroy them instantly (quote genome), but noobed themselves down to the same level so as to throw them into despair. Also, I'm not really sure about DC or Marvel, but Anime characters are more attuned to the thought of, "When a God dies, he is reborn with new powers.", basically, "When I look like I died, I'll come back several times stronger and kick your ass in a single, overpowered attack." EDIT: Also, in many anime series, there's always the hint and possibility of their powers growing. There are characters that "get stronger depending on who they're fighting.", etc. Other then in examples like Madoka, where the series actually ENDS, there is always the possibility of growth and development. |

Maybe I should rant on CR more...
